Switching rooms/requesting locations?

In October, we're spending a week in a GV at OKW with my in-laws. Then, for a second week, my family will be moving to a 2BR at OKW. It seems like it would be much easier to make the move if the rooms are nearby. Should I request this when we check into the GV, or is a week too far in advance for them to know what will be available? I'm thinking if I wait until we go to check in for the second week it will be too late.

You can make the request when you first check in to the GV. The most important thing will be to go to check in early in the morning on the moving day. That's when they'll really do something about it. I don't think there will be any problem getting you the next available 2BR in the same bldg or close by. The number of additional requests you add to that will increase the degree of difficulty, ie: " I want a NS, non-HC, 1st fl, near the pool and bus stop, with no bus turnaround near by, within walking distance to HH, GC view (with no visible golfers relieving themselves or eagles eating ducks)... oh and by the way make sure that no one has ever smoked even one cigarette in the unit since 1992 or I'll have to be rushed to the hospital by ambulance, and I don't want to be near unit 4922 where the kid puked on the couch. Thank-you." Making a request like that will get you exiled to the naughty list!
