Switching rooms at CBR

We are staying in a Pirate room at CBR from December 14 - 20 and have the free dining. We had to switch to CBR from CSR in order to get the free dining offer. The problem is that my wife doesn't like the theme (skull on the curtain, etc.) and I'm not thrilled with the idea of two of our party sleeping in a double bed together. There are no other rooms available without losing the free dining. What do you think the chances are that we when we arrive that they can switch our room to one with two queen beds if we ask at check in to switch to another room?

I would not wait until check in. With advent of early check in they do not have the old flexibility. I suggest calling peridocally for availability..should not be to hard to secure.

Not great. I would keep checking for a non-pirate room. Or CSR. Also consider bringing an inflatable bed.

Not very likely. That is a very busy time of year at WDW and the resorts will be full. I always say book what you will be happy with. If you won't be happy a pirate room, keep checking availability and move to a different category or resort.

We were able to switch rooms from Trinidad North to Aruba upon arrival last June. I believe December is busier, however.

The pirate rooms are a separate bookable category and were most likely included in free dining because they are not very popular. I would keep checking for other availability or, IMHO, ditch free dining for a room that would better suit your party. As you said, you will have double beds and a very far walk from everything at the resort. Again, there's a reason there is a promo connected to these rooms.

We have a standard room at CBR for Oct. with free dining. What about some of the other resorts that have FD your week such as the Cabins, Saratoga Springs, Old Key West etc.? Are they higher priced than what you have at CBR?

Keep looking. We had to book pirate rooms last year, but about a month after we booked, more rooms opened up and we were able to get a standard.
