Switching Resorts

We switched resorts on another trip and found it to be perfectly easy except our luggage never arrived until after 5:30. Went from Poly to AKL. This trip we are spending our first night at Pop then moving over to GF. I'm trying to decide if we would be better to take the time to grab a cab and head to GF ourselves luggage in tow. I'm also wondering what the cab fare would be roughly to do this. Is this even worth it? Should I just let the resorts transfer my luggage? Any suggestions?

I read somewhere that the cab fare would be around $25. You might try posting that question on the transportation thread... I would just pack up and have your luggage moved for you. Kepp a small bag with you with essentials just in case your stuff doesn't show up until late. There is no sense going through the expense and hassle when Disney will take care of it all for you, imho.

Moving luggage from resort to resort should be left to resorts. No need to take a taxi for the transfer as you might end up having to wait a long time once you get over to AKL. Best just take a few items that you might need with you to the parks (leave them in a locker until you decide to head back to the resort). It would be easier, less expensive, plus you have more time in your favourite park.
By the way: the last time I had my luggage transferred over to another resort I did not get back to my room until nearly midnight and the luggage was not in the new room. I had to call Bell Service and have the luggage delivered: it did not arrive until nearly two am. However, I will always use the Bell Services in the resort to move my luggage between rresorts.
