Switching resorts question

I've got a quesiton about switching resorts. We bought a 6 day park hopper ticket four our stay from 5/4-5/9 and are staying at POR. However, it was cheaper for us to stay 5/9 night at an All Stars and fly out in the am then to spend another night at POR, so we are switching resorts that final evening. I understand that Disney will move your luggage for you, but do we need to go to the All Stars and check in before we go to the park on 5/9 or can we just go have some fun at the parks and then go check in a bit later in the afternoon? Also, will the checking out of one resort and checking in at another effect our park hopper tickets for that last day? TIA

Checking out will not affect your park hopper tickets. You are always considered a guest of the disney resorts until midnight of the night you last leave. So, even if you were actually leaving it would have no effect on the tickets. Plus as long as you have days left on the tickets, they are still good whether you are staying at a disney resort or not. They will be good for 14 days from first use, no matter where you are staying.

Yes, they will transport your luggage to the next resort. We have done that from POR. Just have everything packed and ready to go early, then call front desk and they will come and get them. You can also call and leave them there and go to the park. You can check into to AS anytime. Might be easier to go to AS real early so that they will put your luggage right into your room so that you don't need to wait for the luggage that night when you get back. Then all you will have to do is wait for your room assignment. They will either call you or you can stop by front desk on return from the park.
