My DS will be 13 in Jan 2006. We promised him a trip to somewhere with Mom & Dad and maybe a friend..(no little sister, she gets one on her 13th). He picked a Disney Cruise...A little more than we planned, but we just came back from a DCL this summer and LOVED IT!...So now the planning begins...

I'd like book in advance to take advantage of the early booking rates, but not sure what to do about the friend. I'm pretty sure I know who he'll take, but what if it changes, it's a whole year away.

TIA!

I just rebooked while on board, and included my parents at the discount price. The DCL rep said that if I added more people later, or substituted people, the "new" people would have to pay the then-current price. This is why I added my parents now, at my re-booking discount. I can always take them off later if they decide not to join us (or if they are getting on my nerves). (just kidding).:rolleyes1

I'm not sure about 13 year olds in particular, but since you'll have already locked in the adults prices for the room, I don't think that swapping kid ressies should be too much difference in price at a later date.

You can always book a ressie with a TBA passenger. This way you leave the name to be added later, yet you lock in a 4 person cabin and price. Do not book for 3 people and try to add the 4th at a later date, this could be a recipe for disaster. Book now, with the 4th passenger being TBA, when your DS is sure which friend is going then you can change the TBA to his name.

I agree with jel0511 and I want to add that sometimes the Disney cruise reach a max. capacity for kids, and they close additional reservations for children. You might want to have that extra TBA passenger entered as a child to hold the spot!...Mark

FYI....even with a TBA you will need to pay the deposit for them at booking.

I agree with booking the slot for the second child now, due to the risk of the kids quota filling up. ::yes::

Booking TBA is better than trying to change a name....I called DCL in September about the possibility of changing a name on my ressie. Their new policy is that a name change (NOT the main name) is "rebooked" at the then going rate. She said that was a new policy!
