Switching late June vacation to mid August - Bad Idea or OK?

But this year all bets are off, especially if that turns out to be when Rise of the Resistance opens.

True, although I would think with school just starting for a lot of children, parents might not be pulling them out at the beginning of the school year.

the guaranteed daily mid afternoon rain/thunderstorms make August a no-go for us.

It really is hit or miss. The first time we did late August it rained once midday and that's the one day we decided to take a nap (end of the trip and we were tired!). We were there for 7 days. The second time we went we did 11 days. It rained 3 days out of the 11 and it was just for brief periods.

If you go in mid August you are almost guaranteed to be able to ride the Disney Skyliner. If that interests you. I think it will be open by then. It may be open the first week of June also to get everyone used to working it before the opening of Galaxys Edge on August 31st.
