switching hotels w/dining plan

Has anyone with the MYW free dining plan decided to switch hotels after reserving their vacation? Can you switch hotels and still retain that free dining, or would it be considered a new reservation, made after the plan has expired? We have POR booked, but man...I just really love the WL and wish we could do a switcheroo without losing the dining plan.

I think it comes down to whether or not the WL has any opening w/ the free dining at your time of stay. I know someone who tried to book CSR for the same time that we did and while we were able to book they were told the resort was booked with the free dining plan. My TA was told that they are allowing only so many bookings w/ the free dining. It wouldn't hurt to call and find out though. Good luck.

I believe it's past the point to book the free dining package, so that may factor into it also.

But, it doesn't hurt to ask.

When I booked our room at ASMu I asked if we'd be able to switch resorts without losing our free dining plan, after the cut-off date. The CM told me that it's possible if there are available rooms. I haven't tried it yet, but I hope she's right. I'd really like to upgrade to a moderate.

I had booked the POR for 9/26-10/4 using the free dining plan. Several days after the promotion expired I called and tried to switch to the WL. Was told nothing available-but keep trying. The CM's even tried other resorts-nothing. I called again yesterday and had a very helpful CM who tried again to no avail. She put me on hold and called cust. service who told her once the promo ends you can not switch resorts. You can add & delete days or add & delete the # of guests but no resort switching. I was also under the impression you could resort switch and a CM had told me you could as long as there was availability and before the 45 day window. I went ahead and cancelled my dining pkg. and booked WL-courtyard.

I just changed my package from ASMu to CB, with absolutely no problem. I still get the free dining package, also. I can't believe they wouldn't do that for you, PB'sMom. You should call back and tell them about your situation and try and get the dining package reinstated. The CM I talked with said she had to search for availability without putting in the coupon, but that she was still able to give me the free dining.

We tried upgrading as well, but it seems like there is no avability, we also try adding on a day and that didn't work either. I wish I didn't use a TA, cause then I would be calling many times a day, verus my TA. I know I can't blame on the TA for the no avaiabily, and since it was me that changed our mind. But its like she not even trying to call, whenever I go, I ask her if she has called and she said no, and then I ask her to call when I am there. It seems like she only calls if I am there.

Sorry I have another question, can you modify your park ticket to an extra day. My TA told me no. I have an 8 day ticket and want to modify it to a 9 day ticket. Is this possible?

We added a day at ASMo. To add a night with our free dining plan was $161 and change. No good. The AAA rep said let me check on the AAA rate. Came back with $61.60, but with no dining. This was on 7/1 so still inside the window, but I guess no rooms available. I would love to know how many rooms they gave with free dining.

The CM I talked to said I could add or take away days on the park tickets any time.

YES, YOU CAN SWITCH RESORTS AND KEEP THE DINING PACKAGE , I DID IT, I MADE RESERVATIONS TO THE ALL STAR SPORTS , BUT I CHANGE MY MIND AND DECIDE TO SWITCH TO ANOTHER VALUE RESORT, I CALL SEVERAL TIMES WITHOUT NO LUCK (NO AVAILABILITY FOR THE DAYS I WANT IT) I CALLED YESTERDAY 3 TIMES AND THE LAST CM WAS VERY HELPFUL, AND SHE WAS ABLE TO MADE THE SWITCH TO THE POP CENTURY, I'M SO HAPPY ,

I tried to add a day (9/30) to my Pop Century reservation and I could only get preferred room, no dining left. Wasn't worth it. For those who were told free dining is still available doublecheck!!

Changing resorts is considered a modification and can be done, SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY.

If it is inside 45 days of arrival and the total price goes down there is a $50.00 change fee.

Tickets can be UPGRADED at the resort.

My TA was able to switch resorts for me today with the free dining. I was staying at Pop Century, now we are staying at CSR So if anyone is trying to extend their stay at PC you might want to call. I had reserved Oct. 2cd - 9th.

That's right, you can't make new reservations with the free dining, but you can switch resorts if you made reservations before the offer was over (if there are available rooms). I was told if I added days, I wouldn't get the free dining for the extra days.
