Switching at 7 Months

Hi! Today is my 7 month mark. Tried calling Member Services and apparently they're only handling cruise itinerary requests at the moment.

If I cancel my existing reservation to change resorts, are my points returned immediately or is there a waiting period? If I modify the reservation, it looks like it wants to essentially gut my 2023 points, which isn't necessary. The reservation I'm changing to is taking 2 more points only, will it just take the necessary 2 points or will I wind up with a ton of 2022 points to bank instead?

I just don't want to mess it up, so any help is greatly appreciated!

If you cancel, the points return immediately. But the modify should work for you, acting to cancel, return your points, and allow you to use them for the modified reservation. We've used modify many times.

Thank you! It was just alarming to see it wanting to use my 2023 points when this reservation was made with 2022 points!

If it’s only two more points to modify, then modifying online will only use two more points! Don’t ever cancel, in case you can’t get it back!
