We are going to Disney Nov 30 through Dec. 1, it will be myself, DH and DS2. We are booked POFQ; however, we don't qualify for free dining or room discount. We can save about 450 if we switch to CS. I kind of had my heart set on FQ. We are from Deep South Texas so CS doesn't really appeal to us since we are from a CS type area and wanted to try something new. We have stayed at WLAN and loved it, but its out of our budget this year. Would you switch to save the money given our situation?

Saving money is always good but to me it seems your heart is set on POFQ, so if you can afford it I would say its vacation stay with what will excite you and make you can't wait to go the most!

We've done CS, hated it to never return.... Huge..!

POFQ, quaint, compact... Never far from anything...

POR, again too huge!!

I wouldn't switch to CSR to save money. We hated the resort & vowed never to stay there again. POfq we have only visited, but we would love to stay there! It's beautiful, compact, nice renovated rooms, and a great food court! We have stayed at POR & didn't like it, but POfq looks like the perfect place to stay!

We has the SAME conversation at our house this weekend. We ended up staying at POFQ because we truly love the place. When we divided the difference by nights stay we decided we were talking about $50 a night. And for me - I really had my heart set on it.

Hi!
For a 2 day stay (perhaps I'm reading your trip dates wrong), I'd move to save $450.
But, if you are staying longer, perhaps Carribean has FD or RO discount? I love POFQ, but with a 2 year old (my kids are now older) I wouldn't hesitate to switch from POFQ to CBR because CBR has a great kiddie pool area. It is gated and well guarded: older kids cannot get in (I can't remember the age cut off - or maybe it is by height). If you pay for a "Preferred" room you will be nice and close to both the food court, main bus stop, main pool (including kiddie pool), evening movie, evening marshmallow roast. If you can't get preferred, then there could be alot of walking - unless you have a car and don't frequent the food court more than, say, 1x a day.
Hope that helps! I really think the age of your child will = a great stay at CBR. (POFQ does have a kiddie pool area too - I think it has a few sprinklers - but the one at CBR is really nice. Having written all this, though, maybe 2 years old is too young to care about the nicer kiddie pool at CBR!).

Absolutely love CS, we stay there every time we go. It is our families favorite resort. It is a beautiful resort with a lot to offer and the rooms are the nicest out of the moderates. The pool is amazing! We did not like POFR at all and ended up switching resorts. I would not stay there again.

$450 savings for a two-night stay, going from moderate to moderate? Something seems off there. Or are you actually staying much longer and the dates were just a typo?

One year we switched from our POP reservation to CBR to save money (discounts), and just wished we had stuck with POP the whole time.

If the money is not an issue than you should stay at POFQ as it sounds like that's what you really want. :goodvibes

If your heart is set on POFQ and the 450 isn't going to over stretch your budget then I would just keep POFQ.

::yes::

::yes:: I agree. CBR is definitely worth the change if that's the case but $450 does seem like too much for a 2 day stay. We always stayed at CBR before we purchased DVC. It's lovely!

Another thing to remember is that CS is a convention hotel so that may be a deterrent for some people.:worried:

I'm a little confused by your dates. If CSR doesn't appeal to you, don't switch. However, you may want to look to see if you could upgrade to a deluxe that may be included in the discount. Not sure if you are interested, but you may find a discounted deluxe that is comparable or just slightly more than POFQ.
