Any word on what will become of the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse when it closes?
Will it be revamped for a more current(Tarzan) movie related attraction?

Whoa, slow down. :earseek: As of now there are no (announced) plans to evict the Robinsons. Since Tarzan (at least for a few more months) has a stage show, and isn't a huge Disney movie, I don't see any rush to make a change. In fact, Disney has a new live action version of SFR in production. I'm hoping they can tie that in without drastically altering a true Disney classic. :goodvibes

There is an attraction that could be removed without causing too many tears to be shed but what would be the purpose. They have nothing to replace it with and it is a pretty cheap attraction to operate. Hardly any moving parts and no large number of CM's required. I have not heard even a rumor that they were closing the treehouse, in fact, they just refurbished it about a year ago. Cleaned all 40 gazillion leaves and everything.

:earboy2:

Now I'm all nervous! When we go in January we're going to focus on doing many of the things we've never done before, and the Treehouse is one of them. I'm glad to hear that there are no immediate plans to close it, but I'll worry anyway!

The tree house is a tarzan treehouse in California I believe and it is shown in a disney coloring book on property as Tarzan's treehouse so maybe that is where the idea came from.

I really hope they don't change the WDW treehouse to Tarzan. I think the DL treehouse is totally lame and lacking the attention to detail it used to have as the Swiss Family Robinson treehouse.

True, though the space alone is valuable, for retail space if nothing else. I'd sure prefer that they take the Treehouse rather than, say, Jungle Cruise!

I have seen rumors before about changing the Swiss Family Treehouse. I think they have been based on the DL changes. I have also seen rumors, based on DL, that they would be closing Tom Sawyer's Island. The issue there was stated to be that the island is not Handicapped accessible. But again, I believe both to just be rumors, reflecting changes at DL.
Socerer's Figment, what is SFR?

SFR is short for Swiss Family Robinson.

I too thought that they might change the SFR treehouse to a Tarzan treehouse, but that was right after the movie came out many years ago. On one hand it would make sense because my kids have never seen the movie (along with many others I am sure) and a Tarzan treehouse would be something that more children could relate to, but on the other hand the fact that the treehouse is an icon of the original Magic Kingdom, I would hate to see it change.
