WOW this thread take a turn.
I am the poster who said ..."knife weilding maruaders". I meant in in a comical way! Not as a mean accusation. In the past week there where also threads regarding people bringing guns into the park, then this thread combined, I am thinking WOW why would people even consider this.
The OP simply wanted to know if this can be done. For 2 reasons I said No. One reason was from the website that I posted on top of this thread. The other reason is simply from my point of reference, one of the items WDW is looking for is knives being brought in their checkpoint. Thats all!
I myself have a leatherman, and use it. Do I carry it all the time? No. But I do know many guys who do, and feel the same way as many posters here do. Thats fine!....(except for the pickin teeth thing....

)
I must say this thread would be unnecessary if WDW posted actual Official Security notices at to what & what is not acceptable.
My personal "rule of thumb" has always been if you can't bring it on a plane, then you can't bring it into the parks. If I dont think anyone else should have one then neither should I.
However, that no longer holds true. You cant bring oxygen tanks, lighters & hypodermic needles on board a plane, in carry on luggage. Yet you can surely bring these into the parks.
Would I bring a Swiss Army knife into WDW. NO! And not so much because it is a rule, but what a hassle if you do get caught! And it would be very uncomfortable to be pulled over with your kids standing there waiting to see Mickey.
Would I suggest to any readers on how to bring a knife into the park, on this or any board. NO!
I am SURE that 99.99% of the people who bring these into the parks, really mean absolutely no harm to anybody.
For the comment "these are tools not weapons".....True to a point!
On Sept 10, 2001 Box cutters & small knives were considered "tools" by pretty much everyone. Who would of thought 5 individuals going on to a airplane with these, would cause so much damage.
My point is, You just never know anymore? Why risk it?
And as far as NO security at WDW...I wouldn't count them as having none! Part of security for any place holding thousands of people is keeping it on the hush! It's not what you see, it's what you dont see that makes it secure!
