swimwear restrictions??

I am hearing conflicting reports on the swimwear for Paris...men/boys are not allowed to wear swim trunks? They have to be swim briefs or speedos?
Is this true??? My hubby is not going to be happy....

It's not affecting the Disney onsite hotels (yet), but I know that the Explorers hotel has already enforced this policy.

Shorts or trunks are not allowed in swimming pools in France (barring a few exceptions)

It is forbidden to wear trunks and shorts at Disney Hotels (see image below of Sequia Lodge Pool Rules )
But, TBH, it is not enforced on the property (but it's enforced in almost every swimming pool in France)
So bring your husband's trunks (and a speedo) and just see what happens, there is a fairly good chance that nobody will ever say anything

It's definitely in force at the Explorers, its a new thing there and was in force when we were there in May. My son wasn't happy either but as I said you don't have to see these people again and we didn't know anybody there so not too much 'shame'!

I believe it's a hygiene issue. As swim shorts can be worn as normal clothing they worry that someone will wear them all day and then go in the pool.

Boardshorts and the like drag in a lot of dirt and debris which clogs up filters. It is very common in France and Italy for these to be forbidden in pools. The chaps in our family just wear the Daniel Craig type boxer trunks. You don't have to wear budgie smugglers!
