Hey guys! I'm not sure where to put this... i think it's in the right place.

My family & I are helping our friends plan their long-awaited holiday to WDW but we just cannot find any/much information on pool opening & closing times for any of the DVC Resorts. :confused3

My friends husband has a knee problem so it's vital that he has a quick swim every morning which he does at home, BUT would he able to do this at WDW? He's looking between 7am - 8am on their parks days.

They will be doing a split stay - SS, Kidani Village & BLT so i'm not sure if it depends on the specific Resort or the time of year... ?

Thanks!

I think there will always be at least one pool open at each resort that early I know the slides close and open with the lifeguards, but I think the pools are open around 6am.

I've always seen pool maintenance that time of day. Cleaning the pool, testing the water, etc. Most of the themed pools don't open until around 9 or so.

The Kidani pool is sort of small the one at Jambo is much bigger if he is planning on doing laps..

I've got to say - this is where the lack of a "quiet" pool is really an issue with some of the newer resorts. I think the zero entry pools with free form shapes and limited depth are not really suitable for swimming laps. But I agree the pool at Jambo would probably be better than the one at Kidani.

I think they open around 8 am and close around 10 or so depending on the time of year. I know we've been down as early as 9 and they're open and have looked out around the time of Wishes and they're open.

Hope this helps.

think BLT is one that is closed - but next door is the CR and one of their pools is open 24 hours.

besides since the kids at the CR are generally more interested in the parks - it is less crowded than BLT.

Jambo house is definitely the best pool at AKV - my problem the lifeguards decide some morning (they won't say when) that they MUST do their lifeguards stuff and they close that pool for the entire morning.

now definitely understand them wanting to kept their skills up - but not when guests are also up and wanting to use the pool.

one of the problems with only one pool for a very big resort. AKL/V would have been much better with 2 separate pools - my opinion.

Thanks for the replies guys.

I'll just have to tell them that there's not a set time so you won't find out until you get there.

:)

There are two pools at AKL/AKV.

yes one at Kidani and one at Jambo house.

to me it would be better if Jambo house has two pools not just one.

so one pool could be closed and not be a problem.

sorry should have explained better.

We have stayed at Kidani three times (this March being the latest trip) and each time we were told the pool is open 24 hours a day. The lifeguard and slide is not open 24 hours, but you can use the pool. Now, that being said we were never there past 11:00 p.m. or early in the morning so I can't say for sure that we were given correct information from the CM.

Really not much different from WL and VWL. One main themed pool by the WL and one quiet pool by the villas. Except AKV/AKL has two themed pools.

well to me a big difference - it is a short walk - less than 2 minutes from WL and VWL pool.

AKV/AKL can be 15 minutes or more if my feet hurt.
