I know the pools are heated, but has anyone actually gone swimming in Jan? We are staying at CSR for our first time, and the pool looks so nice, but I'm afraid it's going to be too cold!

We usually go in January or early Feb, and sometimes we swim, sometimes we don't. It depends on the air temp. It can be downright cold (one year it was actually 19 degrees!) and other years it can be lovely (60's and 70's). We always see people swimming, no matter what the temp.

So I guess it depends on your tolerance, and how badly you want to swim!

We will be at csr in Dec and I dont think temps would even stop my daughter from going on the waterslide.

My heart is set on going on that super high plun   g slide at BB. So I dont even think below freezing temp would stop me!!!

yes, we go swimming every day we go...nove, dec, jan, or feb.

some days it's colder than others..but the pools are heatedn so it does not matter. you just get cool getting out.

most of the time it's quite warm and you can lay out for a sun tan during the day.

You are from New Jersey? It seems us northerners and especially the Brits will swim in January without too much problem! Sometimes you have to pick and choose which day is best, but sometimes it is just too cold. And unfortunately, many people posted last winter (and I had the same experience) that it seems that Disney is not heating the pools as high a temperature, so the pools seemed cooler than other years. But we still swam! :)

For things for sure - I been told only the northerners would swim in the winter months - the southerners would NEVER swim in January! :teeth:

We've been swimming several times in January. Most of the time, the weather is perfect. Sometimes it's not. No matter how cold it is, I always make it a point to hit the hot tub at WL.

My kids swam every night - of course they are kids and would swim in a hole carved into the ice if that was the only opportunity. ;)

Some nights were cooler than others - the biggest issue was getting out of the water and back to the room, plan to have plenty of towels and you should be fine.

We've been at WDW several times both in Dec. and Jan., and we always use the pools. When the air is chilly in the evening, the water actually feels that much warmer...just bundle up when you get out. This year we'll be staying at BCV in Jan. (for the first time), so we'll be sure to test the waters there.

Even though I am a transplanted New Englander, I still have to say, "Y'all are crazy!" :cold:

We just came back from CSR last week. The pools were so warm - not very refreshing - and we swam at night. The were open til 12! The wam jacuzzi is great too. I would go anyway I am from NJ too. Just keep the towel close. :thumbsup2
