Swimming in February?

We are thinking of doing a trip the second week of February ( before Pres. Week.) Will it be warm enough to swim at the resort do you think? Maybe planning on a moderate this time if they offer free dining.

Average highs in Orlando are in the lower 70's and average lows are close to 50 degrees in February (some days are in the mid-80's). Florida winter lasts a few days at a time then it gets warmer. The temps are good in Florida anyhow. This past February 2014 temps were: http://m.accuweather.com/en/us/orlando-fl/32801/february-weather/328169

Anyhow, according to what I read WDW resort pools (most if not all) are heated anyhow.

We swam in January last time we went, I think it was about 65 degrees. Of course, 65 feels tropical when the temps you left back home are single digits. Moral of my story is: how cold you feel is relative. We were the only ones in the pool most of the times we swam.

The weather in February can be very hit or miss. You will usually find sunny skies but the temperature can vary. Two years ago it was hot, but last year was quite cold.

Most pools are heated and kids will swim even if there is ice floating in the water!

it will probably be hit or miss. we've been down there before at that time and haven't had a problem.

I just read it on touring plans. Walt Disney resort pools are heated throughout the year. As long as you are in the water you will be warm.

We went from Jan 31 - Feb 7 and there were 3 good swimming days in there, highs in the 80s...one day in the low 70s and the other two were 50s/60s.
We swam one day, we didn't plan on swimming but did plan a few 'down times' and we swam during one of them. I wouldn't plan to devote a ton of time to it in case the weather isn't so great but definitely bring the suits cause it is possible!

The year we went in December we swam everyday...but as someone already posted when you live in single digits (Maine) it was a tropical oasis for us! We were one of the few families in the pool.

It depends.

We were on a Dream cruise from Feb 2 - Feb 6.

There was a brutal winter storm at the end of January that brought a lovely cold front.

By Sat Feb 1 (after my lost wallet fiasco)--family was able to swim at GF. Friday--too chilly and rainy. This was our universal day.

Sun Feb 2 was nice and we did swim on the cruise ship

Thurs feb 6--I don't remember weather too much. I think it was on the chilly side.

Fri Feb 7 was chilly. We were at MK. Didn't swim.

Sar Feb 8 was rainy and chilly. If was 50s, but it felt so cold. And after a cold winter in Virginia where 50s would be balmy and welcome--if felt cold and miserable.

It really depends on how the cold fronts are behaving. Swim weather is possible, but not guaranteed. But depending on where you are from--it all feels good and they swim anyway. :-)

You missed the good swimming days! ;) Monday-Wednesday were beautiful, and hot. I was taken aback because I didn't check the weather Wednesday night and we wore shorts to the park on Thursday...had to leave after lunch because we were so cold we couldn't tough it out anymore. We swam on Monday but easily could have on Tuesday and Wednesday also.

That's okay. We had Castaway Cay in wonderful weather.:woohoo:

You never know. On one Feb trip, they closed the pools due to the cold. But it can also be mild enough for at least the kids to swim. Also, the water parks are often down for refurb during Jan and Feb, so watch out for that.
