Swim Floats

We have used the arm floaties for 3 years now.I know they can be dangerous , but honestly so can anything if you use it as a babysitter or a substitute for adult supervision.

We used the resort life vest for my nephew. You are also allowed to hold on to the vest for your entire length of stay. You just have to return it before you leave. If I remember correctly, I think all we had to do was sign it out.

I have a good picture of what the vests look. I just need to figure out how to add it to my post.

I have used the arm floaties (at the dollar store they have Disney themed as well as goggles) for my 6 y/o, she feels better with them on, she is not a novice swimmer, but needs a little support now and then.

My youngest wears a speedo vest, got it at Target. This vest is great for her, allows room for arm movement, and keeps her up when swimming. I noticed, just yesterday though, when DD fell into a pool (she lost her balance and fell into the shallow end) that she did go completely under for a few seconds, but popped up like a cork after that.

However, they are ALWAYS under my watchful/manic eye so I feel this is fine for swimming on vacation. If the resorts ask them to wear life vests from the resort, that is fine too, but I will be packing the above.

My 4 year old son wears a life vest, and that is fine with him. He loves it. However, my 19 month old son thinks he is too big for a baby float now and wants to be like his big brother. A friend let us use the Stearns Puddle Jumper, and it is AWESOME! It is coast guard approved and lets our little one have a blast in the pool. It will be in our suitcase when we go to the World. It comes in red, orange, green, pink camo, and blue camo. The red looks like a lady bug. The green and orange ones have silly faces on them. They are for kids weighing 30-50 pounds.

It keeps my son's face up and doesn't tip him over. I ordered ours at go2outfitters.com, but you can get them at Target.com too. You should be able to use it anywhere since it has the coast guard number on it. It is usually hard to find life jackets small enough for a little one at Disney because of the bulk of packing something like that in a suitcase with all the fees for baggage now. This folds flat.
