Swiffer ? - For the super-thrifty only!

Could someone please tell me what they use in the Swiffer Wet Jets for solution? The posts I've read say to use a regular floor cleaner. My idea of a regular floor cleaner is Pine Sol, Mr. Clean, etc. That's not what's in the Swiffer Wet Jet solution. :confused3

I have ceramic tile in the kitchen & porcelion (can't spell) in the livingroom. I use bleach with water... or white vinegar.. yes, vinegar... I deal with the smell :rotfl: since it works great....

Although I buy the Swifter replacements, my cleaning girl uses rags with the Swifter mop. I have a regular mop and some kind of other contraption where you put on some kind of cloth on the end of a stick to use on floors but she prefers the rags. I use the Swifter replacements for quick pick ups but she prefers the rags adn I don't argue :goodvibes

BTW- I paid $4.86 for a pack of 8 cloths. With each cut in half, that gives me 16 cloths. If I turn each over and use both sides, I get 32 uses out of the set. Plenty to keep me supplied while I have the already used ones in the laundry.

That's awesome! :thumbsup2 Microfiber cloths are truly amazing... they are awesome on windows too!

I cut a hole in the top of the cleaner container and refilled it with my own floor cleaner!!!
I tried to make my own solution for the Wet Jet but when I turned the bottle upside down to put it in the mop the water just leaked everywhere! What am I doing wrong?

Okay, I never thought I'd admit this to ANYONE but I ran out of the Swiffer wet cloths one day so I put the cleaner on the floor and mopped it up with a sanitary pad (the kind with the "wings")

I wouldn't actually recommend it to anyone but it actually did work well

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

I have tons of microfiber towels and have used them for the dry swiffer, but never tried them in my clorox ready mop. What a great idea! I love this board! I use them for regular dusting too, but the main thing I use them for is stuffing cloth pocket diapers, so I'll have to keep the diaper ones separate!

To the poster trying to refill the solution; I am just guessing, but you probably need to cut the hole in the bottom of the bottle so that when you attach it to the mop, it ends up on top.

I've actually put a wet dust rag on my Swiffer. I then mop my kitchen floor with ammonia. It works for those times I don't want to do a real mopping.

I use the cloths from 3M. They are a reusable dust cloth...sorry, I don't know the exact name. I use it, throw it in the wash and start all over.

That's what I do too. Ran out of the other's one day and decided to try the cloth(microfiber?). Works great. :thumbsup2

Thanks! I finally got it! (after reading what you wrote about 4 times) I am mechanically goofy.
