Here now and thought I would post my view on the accessible of SWGE AND smuggle run. ( I looked for a thread already started but could not find it).

They are holding every one on grand avenue and it was very packed almost to the front of the park

About 5 minutes before 6 they made a very loud Announcement that had a loud pitch sound at the begging ( so if your sensitive to sound be warns.

If going for EMH I was ablaze to get a return time for the guest experience team before going into the land

If your in the land your get your return time on the ramp just to the left if smugglers run

The FP line is kind of long but wheelchair and I am pretty sure ECV accessible you go up one floor it was not that steep for me ( I do not use a mobility device but going to the land pavilion at EPCOT felt much steeper to me). There is at lest one handicap vehicle that they have a transfer wheelchair ( like the one used on planes if you can not walk at all).

The ride it self is fun you can ask for a Pacific job but you might have to wait one group.

I have two photos attached one is the inside switch back hoping to give you an idea of the ramp

Second photo is the transfer wheelchair

I really wish that the imagineers would come up with an alternative to this second floor loading design. The ramps are doable in a manual chair if you have the run to yourself and can get some momentum going, but are miserable with the start and stop of people in front of you.

Not too thrilled with the idea that an isle chair is the accessability solution into the cockpit either. I’ll reserve judgment until I actually see it myself. However if it’s an actual isle chair I cannot believe someone along the way didn’t oppose that solution strongly.

You can take your wheelchair right up to where you get on the pilot would be the furthest walk and the enginer would be the closet. It is maybe 10-20 steps at most

Yea, but for those of us who can't walk at all it makes it 3 transfers instead of 1. Plus the long steep ramp makes it a very tiring ride.
How do you get 3 I get two one from your device then to the wheelchair then to ride vehicle

I wonder if they would let you take the elevator in to ( I know you can take it out ) but might not be able too after I think about it some just a though

Just thought I'd add that I did the Passholder preview back on Aug. 17th at 9am (we got to be the first into the new area other than the CM preview). I use a rental scooter and had no problems going through the full regular que with it. Once we got to the end where you wait to board, they asked me to leave the scooter and they moved it for me to be waiting at the end of the ride. It's a fairly short walk to the ride. It's sort of like doing FOP with a scooter if you can walk short distances and stand for a bit. The full que is def cool but very long and there's definitely a lot of ramps up (if you're in a manual chair) I also was traveling with someone who had a DAS and so we did a different entrance I think but you end up in the same place when they take the scooter and you wait to board. I didn't have any trouble bending my knees to get in and out of the seats.

Sorry you're right. I miscounted. It just doubles the transfers not triples.

I went during the Annual Passholders previews. Thanks to a neurological disorder, I had a DAS and am a full-time power wheelchair user who can transfer and walk 10-15 feet but cannot stand for more than a minute.

There was a DAS station at the edge of the entrance to the ride which was clearly marked with bright blue umbrellas. I was give a return time that was 10 minutes shorter than the listed wait time of 30 minutes. When the time came, I was directed up the series of ramps that will be the fp line when fp is implemented. I was touring sole so it was a bit spooky to motor up the switchback ramps all by my lonesome but I was the only person around until it met up with the regular line. When the CM was assigning boarding passes, I indicated I would need to take my chair all the way to the ride seat. I was assigned the right engineer position. In the last room where the flight teams are formed, my team was put to the side to wait for a particular vehicle. When it came time to board, I was the last one and took my chair all the way to the door of the ride. The doorway seemed wider and it was only one or two steps to board and get into my seat. I also think that you could have used a transfer board or pull up immediately next to the seat and self transfer across. After the ride, when the door opened, my chair was waiting right there.

The ride was extremely enjoyable and I have only seen the original, first Star Wars movie!

So if I get there at 6am, I can go ahead and get a return time then and I can get it outside of the land from guest experience team?

I was able to get a return time at 6 am form the guest experience CM at the front of the Parks with no problem at all.

Now that I am home a few thought on the land and rides the land it self seems flat to me I beside going in and out of the land it self and the ride.) there is ramps to get to some places ( like docking bay 7 the smaller shops in that area.)

there are two bathroom in the land it self the one over by the market had a lot more stalls then the other ( Black spire outpost) one did I would say almost double ( this was the Female restroom not sure about the male one )

they had fain thought out the land that worked really good and was blowing a lot of air great place to cool down if you need to

they had big cooler of ice water all over to refill water and they had the small cone cups for use ( there was a refill water fountain in the exit for the ride that was very slow at fill my water bottle I quite using it after a few minutes ( not sure if they fix it or not but I would not use it until they do it was that slow and just use the ones thought out the land) CM were using them too to flll there bottle to witch was cool and gave the feeling that they lived there

I was able to do all three position on the ride.

the ride is self is loud I were my ear protectors every time, and there are a lot of fishing light going on and Hondi ( SP?) is talking to you pretty much the whole time. there is just a simply lap belt like on TOT ( nothing that goes over or across your solder like the outside sets on TT )

Pilot is by fair my favert there is really no way for you not to crash and it was bumpy for sure ( about the same as star tours if your really good a little less not so good a little more)

gunner was ok I get car sick if I read in a moving vehicle and I could feel my self getting a little sick but nothing too bad. all you do is push one Botton ( but you can put in manual mode but I never did)

engineer the set is self hurt my back it was like sitting on the ground and up against the wall ( straight up) there was no curve to the back of the set and I found my self hunched over most of the ride. you do sit higher up then the other two sets so you can see what is going on better then the gunner spot. there is a lot more Botton s to push and things to do ( or this is what it seemed to me)

I have already posted about the return time so I will not say much if getting one in the land your need to go to the ride it self to the left your see a ramp there will be a CM standing on the ramp ( some times more then one) wearing a blue vest they will have the iPhone type thing to scan your MB or card for your time to come back
