OK, so I'm officially crazy! I just booked Aug 28 - Sept 2 at CSR specifically to go see opening day at SWGE!!

Now to get flights.....this is going to be insane!

But I want to go see this first without the grandchildren, so I can go at my own pace....and really see it! Plus I will try out the new CSR CL before DEC, which will be cool.

Wait, maybe I should have tried to book CBR for the gondolas.

Would you switch? Better to be CL or try the new gondolas and check out the newly refurbed CBR? We will be staying in CSR come Dec.

The only thing reported so far for the Gondolas opening is "Fall 2019". So you'd be taking a chance that they won't be running. Not sure if WDW considers the end of August as Fall.

By the opening of SWGE...maybe?

LOL!

I think the goal is to have gondolas operational before star wars. And if end of August is late fall for star wars opening, I think early August for skyliner would be reasonable. If your plan is to literally only go there for starwars I would switch. I don't think you will be at the hotel nearly enough to make the price you pay for club level worth it. Now if you could get fastpasses for the ride I would answer differently, but they've made it clear they won't be offered initially.

Good point! Thanks!

That's when we go anyway since my birthday is 8/28. But we book at BWI, CL, seeing how they are my 2nd family and it's only right to spend my birthday with them. Couldn't be more perfect I suppose :)
Only yuck is I'm used to it being rather quiet at this time. Not gonna be now

Yeah, I thought I'd heard they were going to wait till Fall too. So I'd NOT expect them in August. But anything is possible. Cause end of August is Summer, not Fall, without any question.
