SWEET SIXTEEN :Have they been kissed? PTR: Updated 8/15

The skating pictures are great Rosie. That is amazing that they get out there. I have not ice skated since I was a kid & would not dare to now. I am afraid I would break a bone!!:scared1: That is wonderful that they get out there & perform like that. Kudos to them.:thumbsup2

Before I reply to previous posts I wanted to share with you

SABAH!!!!Ice Skating Show presented by the Developmentally Disabled

 How neat is that. I would probably need just as much assistance as they did if I were to attempt to do an ice skating show. I used to be able to (somewhat) stay on my feet when roller skating - but I've never been ice skating. Well, I take that back - when I was about 12 they tried to put up a portable ice rink at the ball diamond. I remember walking up there with Mom's old ice skates - by the time I got up there her old leather skates were so stiff I couldn't get them on and in my ultimate wisdom tried to skate with frozen skates only partially on because my friend that I was up there with was already skating :rolleyes1. Of course it didn't work....and my cheap plasticy-rubber boots froze in a weird shape in a pile in the snow so when I finally gave up then I couldn't get them back on :sad2:. My feet were frozen solid by the time I walked the 7 or 8 blocks back home. You know sometimes I wonder how I have survived as long as I have, all things considered :headache:

What does SABAH stand for?

It's so great to see them out there on the ice!

What an event!! I am very impressed with their effort and their courage to perform in front of so many people! :thumbsup2

The ice skating show looks really cool! (no pun intended) I'm sure that is not just an enjoyable time to watch, but also a very uplifting experience to behold. What a great opportunity for some very deserving individuals to shine like a star!

Very funny Marv !!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2:But are you now calling me a Venus FLY Trap!!!!:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
Hmmm, now there's a new name I woodn't have considered. Rather catchy!!!

Rosie,

Wonderful pictures! It looked like there was a full house to!! It looks like fun was had by all! :) Thanks for sharing, it's warm kind hearted people like you that give such joy to others that have limited abilities. Thanks for being who you are.

Sorry I was behind again.

Looks like I missed lots of exciting news and events.

Love the new luggage. Seems to me I can never have enough luggage.

Congrats to Kyle. Sounds like he'll have a great trip this summer and he'll get to see something new.

I hope the girls get those jobs. I remember how scared my oldest two were when they first got out into the working world even if it was only for a few hours a week. It's a great way to learn some independence and meet new friends.

Congrats on your Lake George trip. Second time around will be even better.

Thanks for sharing about the skating show. What a great experience.

looks like an awesome show, i cant skate at all so i applaud them that they can.

tried a few times but spent more time trying to stand.

That looks like a great show. Good for those people! I'm like FauntleroyFan07 -- I can't skate either.

It scared me for a second when I saw that tiger out on the ice in that one picture.

A great show indeed. What a way to develop a skill and entertain.

Unlike Dan and Glenn I can both roller and ice skate but have not done either in years. I do not think in a million years would I perform in front of all those people.

Yes for each set they had different props they brought out and we had fun guessing what DISNEY movie/ characters would be in the next one !! My guess is Jungle Book for that one but to be honest I can;t remember :confused3

I know they are so brave!!Every Fall our agency hosts a Talent/ Art Show !! It is very enjoyable and amusing , the arts/crafts are pretty good too !!I am trying to convince one of my gals to crochet something for the show she is pretty dang good !! Of course we have our singer who enters every year , can't carry a note or move to the beat but she gets up there everyyear !!Iwill try to get some pix of that too this year!!!

That is so cool Rosie!!!!!!!!!! How inspirational.

I can skate. Badly....

Unlike my less athletic male counterparts I grew up roller skating. I went ice skating once and thought it was actually easier.

I grew up roller skating and can do that no problem. I tried to ice skate once, and didn't do too well.

i can roller skate and roller blade with the best of them marv.

are you sort of challenging me to a male athletic competition?

i think we can have a nice little contest when you come up to visit this summer.
:thumbsup2

that is unless you are scared and back out of coming up this way, it will just cost you your man card.

I think you'll win the rollerblading competition, but my money's on Marv for the burping and farting events.
