Sweet 16 Gift Help

Ok Dis friends, I need you're help. My DD was invited to a Sweet 16 Birthday Party for a friend of hers. Now normally it would not be an issue, except that this party is at a Hotel in one of their ball rooms. It is a semi formal event. She has never been to an birthday party like this.

What would be a good gift and how much does one spend on a function like this when on a budget?

My niece has already started attending some of these fancy parties for Sweet 16 and Quinceanera, usually, my sister sends her with a nice card and a visa or amex gift card for $50 - $75 (depending on how close friends they are).

Most teens give gift cards. Give what you can afford. In our area 25 is pretty normal.

Thanks for the ideas. I'm looking for that WOW gift that is reasonably priced. The pandora charm sounds great. I wish I knew if she had one.
