Disneyland information is the last entry. Next year I'm taking my youngest to WDW for her sweet 16 so we can do dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table with the princess package, a tiara, card from the princesses and a cake, staying at POR in a royal guest room. I don't know if there's anything similar at DL, maybe at Ariel's Grotto?
I called the hotel and they are gonna decorate our hotel room door and make her something special too. I work for the Holiday Inn chain so when I called and mentioned her birthday they got excited.
When my daughter turned 16, we went to Disneyland, and I let her bring a friend. We were staying at the Hilton, and were plat members at the time, and they sent her a HUGE cake. We also scheduled to do the ABC Bistro (well, she turned 16 about 9 years ago!) followed by special seating to Blast!, then premium seating to the Fireworks, and preferred seating to Fantasmic! She still grins ear to ear when we talk about that trip.
What would make your daughter feel special? Ariel has a great meal, as does Storytellers. If she is a foodie, and would enjoy a more elegant setting, Napa Rose might be nice. Fantasmic! is classic for an older teen birthday.
What does SHE like?
And check out the birthday cakes available (there is a thread on them.) Don't do the little jewelery box one. Not worth it.
