Who's getting to today? I haven't told my daughter but I am going at lunch to get it and then I'm going to run home and leave it on the coffee table to surrpise her. She has been counting down.

I was going to get it, but I see that it is not being released in Blu Ray. I was a little disappointed by that.

I'm getting it tomorrow night (I hope) - I have an appointment after work, across the street from Target. I NEED the 2-disc edition, too! I am completely obsessed with this movie - I have a couple of pictures on my cubicle wall at work and it's my computer wallpaper as well. Plus, I have the book, the soundtrack (which I listen to every day), and the framed movie poster on my bedroom wall...

My daughter is very much into it too. Do I need to get the 2 disc edition? I tried to find her a poster for Easter but didn't find one locally, I think I will have to order it. She has the soundtrack. She really wants one of the tshirts they have at hottopic, but I just really want her to have one without the razorblade.

DH is picking it up for me today. I'm disappointed to hear that it isn't being released on Blu Ray (that's what we wanted). I missed it when it was in the theaters, but can't wait to see it now!

If you think she might be interested in the "making of," then I'd recommend getting the 2-disc. If it's the same thing as what I saw on HBO, it's kind of cool. They did a little on the costume design and showed the actors in the recording studio - it's just neat to see the behind-the-scenes stuff.

Wow thank you! The second one is the one I want to get her and that is a great price. Did you get it framed? She has another movie poster already on her wall from the first Harry Potter movie and I got it framed. It's still on her wall. She loves art, and movies, so I'm thinking it would be cool to get her a collection going.

I'll probably end up buying it eventually, when I can get it used and for cheap, which is how I get most of my DVDs.

You're welcome! I just ordered the 2nd one myself - and here, a code for 20% off: ABART43. I don't order them framed; 24" x 36" is pretty much a standard size and I buy the nice poster frames at Michael's. Not the kind with the slide-on pieces, but actual one-piece frames.

I'm looking forward to watching it again and with my daughter who has not seen it yet. I am not able to buy it yet though. I'd love to have the soundtrack too.

Well they didn't have the special 2 disc, but they had the regular one and I got it. Can't wait to hear how excited she is.

This is one movie I am SO looking forward to seeing!!! Love musicals, love Stephen Sondheim, love Johnny Depp and love Alan Rickman!! Yes, I know it is dark and bloody, but I think DH and I will like it a lot!!

Johnny Depp is amazing and I too have become obsessed. Love the soundtrack and watched the movie last night.

There is just something about it, I can't explain it but this will be one of those movie muscials that will be Classic in 20 years

Got the movie on Friday and watched it over the weekend.

I think, like many Sondheim musicals, this one has to grow on you a bit. Certainly, not your typical Broadway style show . . .

Very, very sad at the end, but some amazing performances. The songs are maybe not the most "hummable" - as Sondheim himself says - but I've always thought his lyrics are the fantastic.

And I actor who can sing do much better in muscials than singers who try to act. As long as they can stay on key, they can always sell the song with their acting.
