What happens if you type in a word that you think the filter will catch, but it doesn't? :confused3

I would say, if the filter doesn't catch it by default that means it's allowed... if the filter needs to be updated that would be a function of the mods, and if the rule did not exist until AFTER the filter was updated, you should not be punished for it.

But there I go thinkin' again. :confused3

I wouldn't worry about it too much, because I once got points for using a word that "bypassed the filter", that others only got a warning about. I think the whole system is unfair in how points are doled out. If one person is going to get points, then every person who violates the same rule should get them too.

I seriously think it depends on the mod that catches it.

What word did you use? You can whisper it and no one will hear...

I agree with this.

I edited the word to say butts. So you can figure it out from there. It's just something that I assumed would be filtered. :rotfl2:

I got a warning a month or so ago for a word that "should" have been filtered. I know at least one other person got warned for quoting me. After I was warned the Mods saw fit to add the word to the banned list.

You get one of those "gentle" warnings from the Mods. ;)

My personal favorite thing to type that somehow the filter misinterprets:

Dick Van ****

Not exactly true. The profanity filter is just one tool we use to help keep the DISboards clean and family friendly. It does not/cannot contain every possible offensive word.

If a word or phrase is rude or profane, just don't use it. Do not depend on the filter to edit offensive content.

Everyone needs to use good judgement in what they post here, and to follow our posting guidelines in terms of keeping content clean, appropriate, and free of insults and attacks.

Mushy said a bad word, Mushy said a bad word:banana:
