Just off the fantasy SWDAS April 1-8 on western route.

I'll focus on Star Wars. Movies were every day in the theatre all Star Wars movies vary each day. None were available on demand.
Still had pirate night on day 3 in Cozumel and fireworks but was standard menu. Same pirate show and dance party in deck at night.
We had to fill out a choice of five ticketed events for the day at sea. Choices were meet:1 darth. 2. Kylo or phasma. 3. R2d2/c3po, 4. Chewbacca and 5. Jedi training
You had to rank 1-5. We picked darth and kylo/phasma as 1&2 and got both. Darth was in the tube at 10am and super short line. Fun interaction and talking. Then we had a choice of kylo or wait for phasma do we waited for phasma.
On deck 11 at 10 and 2 storm troopers roamed and took photos and boba get walked the stage but did not stop for photos.
All day in lobby there were jawas, imperial commanders, Boba fett and others u could get for photos but they walked around and did not stand non place.
The dinner was good.
They sold tie fighter popcorn buckets that are cool and bb8 drink cups.
We watched rogue one in 3D that night then the show up top was lots of clips and characters coming out. Very cool. Not lame or silly like the pirate night show and fireworks set to music were really good.
Any questions?

Were ANY other movies shown on board in the theater for those who are not fans?

Yes. Star Wars was basically 2 movies a day.
Others shown. Beauty and beast, Moana, dr strange,
I think that was it.

My only negative about SWDAS was the horns were only one time every couple hours and u had to be ready. No warning. And only one horn each time. Like 9 am was Star Wars theme then noon was imperial march and so on.
And for movies on the funnel vision on SWDAS was only Star Wars rebel cartoon all day. Shoulda had a real movie out there to enioy

The horns would be a positive for me. Lol.

Thanks.

Do you think it's worth the extra $? Seems like Jedi Training is now being offered on the Dream ships, curious as to how those events go. Thanks for this info, sounds like a great trip!

Jedi training on the Dream is a club activity. On SWDAS the kids get to go on stage in the Walt Disney theater and actually fight Vader or the Inquisitor. I'm not saying this makes it worth the extra money, but the experiences aren't the same.

IMO, it would be best to reserve a spring break cruise and get lucky if it turns into a Star Wars one.

The Trials of the Jedi was pretty sweet. Pretty much what you get at the Studios, but you get the projected background that is pretty cool because it changes. Plus, the newer light-up sabers look a lot better in the dimmed WD Theater than in the bright Orlando sun. Finally, my 7-y.o. really dug the Inquisitors on "Rebels", so the appearance of Seventh Sister was unexpected and awesome.

don't get me wrong. i was excited for the horns. But they only did them 1 at a time. ON other cruises like at noon you know the captain is gonna come on and talk adn then play ll 7 horns. But with SWDAS they never did both at a time. and only like 9/12/2/3 & 4 and then 7(whcih they didnt' do and then i heard it at 740) so odd

it really wasn't extra for us. we booked it the day bookings opened and then changed it about 4 months later to a SWDAS. No extra cost. Honestly i think they added it to cruises that weren't selling out or selling strong.
when i booked it my DS8 was not a huge SW fan. but in the last year he grew to love the force. So it was a very cool day. and it was a neat break from the same old same old on the cruise. Worth it if you are a SW fan for sure.

Oh good to know, they are describing it like a ticketed event with "limited availability" and when I sent a note to shoreside concierge, they described it as having to get tickets to it.... I just assumed it was in a theatre but I suppose I can see it being in the club too

Maybe they've changed it then. When we were on the Dream after Dry Dock, it was just a club thing.

There is still a club thing from the sounds of it but looks like they added a "Temple Training" 30 min activity on sea day in one of the theatres... from the sounds of it on the other thread it is first come first serve.... the navigators says "limited availability" so I am going to ask the concierge host what the deal is, if it is ticketed we'll check it out but not sure I want to do it enough to stand in lines for it

for SWDAS it is ticketed event if you want to have a chance to be "chosen". i wasn't srue how many of the ticketed kids get chosen so i didn't choose it as an option. if you just wanted to watch it you could. but you couldnt be chosen if you didnt' have a ticket on the Fantasy.

Yes, you had to be ticketed, but on my SWDAS, I got the impression that no kid was turned away from getting a ticket. And it looked like every kid who got a ticket was "chosen". There were a lot of kids on the stage.

Yes, if you get a ticket, you get to go on stage. The theater is open to everyone who wants to watch.
