Welcome all to our very first SA meeting. Remember the first step to recovery is admitting that you have a problem. I will start the meeting today.

Hi my name is Buffy and I'm a swapoholic. The last day I worked on a swap was yesterday. My biggest problem is that I can't say no. I just love the pretty colors.....look at all the pretty colors.....

disclaimer- this in no way makes fun of or belittles those with real addictions. :sunny: Just wanted to be clear.

Ok.... I'll go next. Hello, my name is Shawna and I'm a swapoholic also. I last worked on swaps at 2:00 am this morning. My biggest problem is that I too can not say no- but I love it so it is hard.

I too wanted to add the disclaimer- this in no way makes fun of or belittles those with real addictions. :sunny: Just wanted to be clear.

My name is Brooke, and we all know I am a swapoholic. I last worked on swaps last night, and I have to finish my last one today, so I will be off the wagon for a while longer. My biggest problem is the same is Shawna's. I see an open swap spot and I get this excited feeling--ooh, think of the pretty stuff that would come with this swap! :lmao:

My name is Jenny and I'm a swapaholic. I just got back from a cruise and will be working on swaps while doing the laundry all day today. I also can't say no but I'm really trying to cut back a little bit anyway.

" HI BUFFY"

(standing...looking at all my fellow swapaholics)

My name is Debbie, and I'm a swapaholic. I love the creativity of it all. I love the colors, papers, tools, the shopping, the whole process. I lay in wait for hostesses to open the thread, pick my topics, then plan and shop...

Do I need an intervention? YES (temporarily)! So, hostesses, please stop coming up with these great swaps (at least till after the holidays). I have to say I LOVE the whole thing, and LOVE even more seeing all the great items that arrive in my mail when the swap is over. My fellow swapaholics are so clever, creative, and just fun! I love seeing the way others use the theme, and then run with their own ideas. These swaps are better than any magazine subscription! AND I get to keep everything that comes in the mail! WAY COOL!!!

My 12 Steps Program:

1. I admit I am powerless over the swap, and the great ideas that flood my head when a new topic is mentioned.

2. I will spend time with my own books.

3. I will organize my craft room so I can be more productive (for the swaps that I sign up for...OH NO A RELAPSE!)

Oh well, that didn't last long... Whew I feel better! So, who's up for a swap? :lmao:

Hi to everyone. My name is Karen. I am a swapaholic. I last worked on a swap this morning (just finishing it up).

I just stumbled onto this thread and I can't seem to leave. It is the first thing I check in the morning and the last thing before bed. I love the ideas, the new techinques, the MAIL! I love it all.

I pledge to work on my books. I pledge to support you in getting your pictures done. I pledge to not take on any more swaps until after my birthday. (Jan 11). That is my goal.

Welcome all. Thank you for joining us this morning. I'm happy to see so many familiar faces. I do believe though that we are missing a few. Ladies please we do not judge here. We are all here to help you through your steps.

My first step is admitting I love to swap. I'm not really picky about brands either, any kind of swap is good.

My second step is apologizing to my DH and Dkids for neglecting them to finish my swaps. I admit to my kids being late for school because I was waiting for a swap to open.. *weeps in shame* I have also neglected my wifely duties to finish said swap.

Good morning everyone! My name is Stacy, and I will admit it.. (that's the first step after all right??!) I AM A SWAPAHOLIC. There, said it. Feels so much better now.. lol

I last worked on a swap - well .. I am currently working on a swap..yikes! lol. I am promising myself, no more new swaps til after Christmas. I solomly swear to only try to take on what i can handle at one time, and get them in on time!

Ok, enough chit chat.. back to work on my swap..lol.

Hello all. My name is Ann and I am a swapaholic. I last worked on a swap at 1:00am this morning. I will be working on another swap after dinner.

I can't help myself. I am so new to scrapbooking, I've only completed two pages. I am so new to swapping, I just joined them, was it June for the Resort sign ups? And already I admit to having a problem. I admit to being late to school waiting for a sign up. I admit to laundry going undone for need to create more items. I admit to not being able to stick to just the necessary elements for the page kits. I admit to be too tired to perform wifely duties-cleaning, cooking, and nooking. I admit to spending way too much time on this board looking at what everyone is up to and where they are in their swaps.
I admit that as soon as there is another sign up for a swap I will, maybe, probably, use- I am there!
I am Ann and I am a swapaholic.

I will be hosting that meeting tonight after I finish my Topers and Tags swap.

Hi girls!!!
I'm Nancy.. I'm a swapaholic.. and hopefully once we get things underway for DH I'll be back to swapping.. for now until the first of the year, I'm going to be scrapping and trying to catch up with all of you!!!!
*waving* you all are the best.. when I need a little lift I come in here and you all brighten my day!! THANKS!!!

Hello ladies,

Rebecca here and I too am a swapaholic. I have just started scrapbooking and I have done more in swaps than with any of our pictures. In some ways I like the creativity of swapping more than actually putting our pictures into albums. Well, I am off to finish things for the swaps I have due this week.

Nancy- I am praying for your family.

Hi, my name is Hope...I last worked on swaps...5 minutes ago.

When I started swapping, I was terrified. What if my stuff was not good? Then I found out that I spend more time and effort on the stuff I make for others than the stuff I do for my own books. So swapping meant I was doing stuff for me. It got worse this month when I started taking advantage of other's misfortune and started last minute angeling...late night trips to the store when I am supposed to be DONE, reading threads I am not a swapper to see if anyone needs help. Praying for PrincessNancy and her family so that there will be no delays in next year's Epcot swaps. I admit to taking over more and more space in DH's room, including hijaking the table we bought for his hobbies, and keeping it covered with scrapping supplies at all times. My behavior is shameful.

Rebecca, Hope welcome ladies.

My turn to share. I am truly ashamed. :guilty: As I sat here reading your posts DD was in desperate need of a diaper change, she was stinking up the house to high heaven. What makes me leave your side to change her you asked, well she went one more time and soaked my shirt. Anyone who has DD knows how much pampers hold too. Bad Mama Bad Bad Bad.....

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My name is Cherie and I am a swapaholic.

How do I know I have a problem, you ask. Well, I just began sorting stuff to put together my album from my trip to the World three weeks ago (couldn't start sooner, I had swaps to finish ;) ). Anyway, I was so excited  because I knew I had amazing things I had swapped to put in my album. So I get everything out...and you can't see my bed. It is covered!!!!!

My album is going to be five feet tall.

I need help...but only until after the holidays! :goodvibes

(Entering Room 101 hurriedly)

Sorry I'm late!

My name is Suzanne and I'm a swapaholic. It has been 45 hours and 14 minutes since I've last worked on a swap.

I have 5 overflowing priority mail boxes filled with received swaps. I have yet to use a single item. :guilty:

The funny thing is I remember how much I agonized over joining my first swap (MK Land swap hosted by ksjayhawks back in the Spring) - I wondered if I would really use the items (look how well that turned out  ) and I worried about having the time to complete it. That swap turned out to be a gateway swap and before I knew it I was signing up for multiple groups in multiple swaps. My summer was completely eaten up by swaps. I took over a whole room of my house to use as my scrapbooking room - I told my husband it was for "scrapbooking" but we all know the truth - it was just for swapping. (head hung in shame)

(Voice quiets.) This is my darkest, most embarrassing secret - I have, not once, but twice, logged onto the DIS *on vacation* to sign up for or check on the progress of a swap. Once at the business center of my hotel, once (voice cracking) going so far as to seek out an internet cafe while my husband was sleeping. I told him I went out looking for "breakfast." Oh, the shame...

I have achieved step 1 - admitting I have a problem. I have outlined my personal goals for recovery. Now that I have found this support group, I am confident I can keep this addiction at bay.

{{Disclaimer - ditto above. }}
