Swan/Dolphin/Springs FP+ and split stay offsite

I just called Disney to check on something and I think I may have been misinformed. It's been awhile since we've done Orlando the way we're planning, and I had thought that if we start at a property that has the 60 day window even if it is one of the neighbor properties then we would have the 60 day window on a day by day basis for the rest of our stay offsite. In other words we could book for the days we're on property at the 60 window of our 1st day, then we would have to book each day , 1 day at a time 60 days out for the days off property. I was told that we would now only get a 30 day window for the days offsite if it is a neighbor property as our onsite property ?
