Do all the rooms at the Swan and Dolphin hotels have a balcony? Or only some rooms? If only soom rooms, which view do you have to ask for in order to be sure you get a balcony room?

I am interested in these two hotels (because they seem to always offer decent rates) but I can't stand to be in a room without a balcony (I feel to closed in). I've seen some pictures that lead me to believe all or most rooms have a balcony and then others seem like none of the rooms have them, so all in all the pictures have just made me more confused.

Thanks!

They do not all have balconies. I think when you book you have to ask for the room level that would have one. Try the Dolphin, I believe the Swan has very few balconies.

Many of the rooms at these resorts do NOT have a balcony. We enjoy these resorts, but don't stay more than a night or two because of that reason. Balcony rooms cost more, unless you're able to get a complimentary upgrade.

Actually in comparison to total rooms the Swan has more balconies. But, they have less rooms overall than the Dolphin. Most of the rooms that are in the east and west wings at the Swan have balconies and are usually referred to as Deluxe balcony rooms when you make the reservation. A few of the wing rooms don't have balconies and most of the rooms in the standard/main part of the bldg don't (there are some on the courtyard side that do).

At the Dolphin most of the rooms in the standard/main bldg don't have balconies but some do that face the courtyard (like the Swan).

However the rooms in the wings (there are 4 wings at the Dolphin and 2 at the Swan), have balconies in every other room at the Dolphin. If you look at an outside photo of the resorts you can actually see this configuration.

Click on the link below to view the Dolphin photo: (for some reason it doesn't want to upload to this post?)

You can see at the Dolphin how every other room has a balcony here. The rooms at the end of the wings all have the half rounded balcony which is cool, some actually have the 2nd regular balcony.

Below is the Swan, you can see some rooms in the middle of the wings don't have balconies and there are a few in the middle or standard part of the bldg that do.

Thanks for the information! I don't think I'd want to have to pay more for a room with a balcony unless the rates were really good, otherwise looking into other disney hotels might be a better idea (even though I'm just looking around in hopes that we can make a disney vacation this summer work). I always wondered by the swan/dolphin decided not to have a balcony with every room, it seems like a big downfall to me (but maybe it's not important to others).
