Swan/Dolphin parking question

I understand that parking is $15 per night, but I'm not clear on whether that is regardless of check-in time/check-out time, or if it's for a 24 hour time period. For example, if I get to the Swan at 10am, do I have to leave by 10am the following day to avoid an additional day's parking fee?

Also, am I right in thinking the resort fee is mandatory? I have no need of anything that's included with it, but it doesn't sound like it's optional.

That resort fee is one of the things I dislike about the Swolphin. Since it's a mandatory fee why don't they just include it in the rate?

Extra charge for parking I can understand, if you don't drive you don't get charged if you do you get charged for usage.

The fee is mandatory but includes a free newspaper, 2 bottles of water a day, self parking and internet. The fee is charged for how many nights you stay. We were there last month for 4 nights, free stay on the room from SPG points but we were charged the resort fee for 4 nights...checked in at noon and out at 3pm

Alot of the time we are forced to use the valet service because the self parking lot is always full
