Swan / Dolphin on Hotwire

epcotitis (Jen)

No luck June 15-20 for S/D when I checked but you will want to keep checking as my dates weren't available a few days ago and I managed to secure them last night. Good luck1 :)

Just a FYI....June 15th-20th isn't available, but 16th-20th (and 21st) is available at the Dolphin.

I have a reservation with the teacher rate in June and was planning to upgrade to club with my spg points. I was intrigued by the $81 rate so I called the Dolphin to find out if I could upgrade to club with points on a hotwire reservation and was told, no, only regular reservations.
If anyone hears otherwise I would love to know, but that was the response I was given today. Now I have to decide if it is worth it to keep my reservation or switch to Hotwire and ditch the club level plan.

I would think that it would be very hard to upgrade from a hotwire or piceline reservation. The hotels also don't give you points credit for your stay. (Note: Occassionally they will mess up and give you credit, but the official line is NO credit! That is the program policy, not hotel)

DisneyBud, I just wanted to tell you, that if you stay at the Dolphin, the King bedded rooms DO have a pull out sofa & they do offer rollaways & cribs as well....

As for the smoking/non-smoking issue, I don't think you'd have too much problem with that if Hotwire puts it through as a non-smoking reservation, or at least I haven't in the past when staying at the Dolphin...

Thank you SO SO much!!We are SO happy! We're takin a little"bonus" budget trip on our way back home from Ft Myers April 24 and 25, and I was pretty much resigned to offsite. OK, but just not quite the same. I saw your posts a week or so ago, and have been mulling over the whole thing. This morning when I checked this thread, several had posted getting the Swan or dolphin for the $81.00. The advice and instructions you gave seemed so clear and almost foolproof! So I did it--and got it!
I have tried to locate on the thread where you mention how you'd like us to post the results on your website--can't locate it, however I will be happy to do it. Thank you again so much. :bounce:

Glad to hear you got in on this too!! I PM'd you the site information, however you can also get there by clicking on my "WWW" icon directly below each of my posts!

Just wanted to let everyone still trying to get in on this deal to check out my site/list before bidding. I have updated the Swan's ammenities, and you can now tell it and the Dolphin apart!

Jim

Great rate, LynnB! Thanks for posting this on my board as well....Glad you found the info to be of some use :)

BTW, just checked and pretty much every date in June is still available at these low rates at either the Swan or Dolphin depending on the exact date. Some scattered dates in other months are also available.

Just got back into town...and back on the internet...and saw this thread. What's the address for the Orlando Hotwire/Priceline site? I know it's probably been asked before, but I hate to have to crawl through the thread looking for it.

Thanks,

Tim E.

Tim--click on the www under jtopicz1's name (on the bottom of all of our posts is a www). It will take you to his awesome site. Read all the directions and go to the bidding on hotwire link. Check and see what is available for your dates and then check his list of amenities. You should be able to tell if the Swan or Dolphin is available for your June stay! :)

Jim,

My earliest date is December 17, 2003 for about 7-9 days. I have checked every single date in that time frame and nothing comes up yet!!

I am optimistic something will still appear.

I am actually off to WDW in 5 days to the Dolphin on this $81 rate. Thank you again for all your time and efforts!

Still nothing for me :(
But keeping hope alive :bounce:

Good luck to everyone else searching for the elusive rate!!

Hi Jim:

Just wanted to compliment you on and thank you for all the great information. I have checked for October 10 but don't see the Swan/Dolphin yet. Perhaps it's just too early? Your info has made me wonderfully brave and I'll definitely try Hotwire if it the 10th comes up. Thanks again!

Hello Jim,
I just want to add my thanks!
I've decided I can't go the Hotwire route, I'm just always too unsure that I won't have to cancel.
BUT, I certainly gave it serious consideration because of your site and your help on these boards.
I'll be sure to recommend your site to other people.
I hope to be able to take advantage of it myself one day, maybe for a last minute trip when I KNOW I am definately going.

Congratulations to everyone who got great deals and good luck to everyone still searching!

Thanks again, Jim!

Thanks for the info chris1gill. I just have to get up the nerve now.. I think what we might do is this. Our trip is 10/22 to 10/29.. 10/22 is not coming up with the $81 rate, but 10/23 to 10/29 is. Soooo.. I figure why not stay at WL for the first half of the trip for 3/4 days and then do the Swan/Dolphin for the balance of the trip. I would feel so much better going WL (maybe even concierge) for those first 3/4 days if I knew that at the end of the trip I would be saving so much money with Hotwire here.

Ohh the possibilities!!!

Sarah. Take heart in knowing that you are not the only one who is not getting this rate for your dates. Maybe something big is going on during our September dates, like a convention or something? That's the only thing I can think of. It's a little depressing to see everyone getting these great deals, but I really am beginning to think that I was meant to keep my original ressies. I will let you know if anything does come up!
