Swan/Dolphin - No Teacher or Nurse Rate?

I just got off the phone with Swan and Dolphin reservations. I am looking for 12/26/06 ro 01/01/07. I read the the sticky at the top of this forum and it says teacher and nurse rates are available for my dates. The person I spoke to said they are not available. Is it possible they are gone already, or are they not booking those discounts that far in advance?

We've got Swan in March '06 at the Teacher's Rate, our 4th time booking the S/D either through SPG.COM or DU and in my experience it's way too early for your dates to be in the system with this discount. SPG.COM is the Starwood site and they have such discounts earlier than DreamsUnlimited and with more days. One thing to remember at SPG is that if you punch in a week and any day in that week is unavailable for the discount, it will say your whole week is unavailable. Monitor the DU site as that will show availability of individual days of your week.

Thanks, Bill. I'll keep my eyes open. I'm hoping it's just way too early. I never booked S/D before. Do they release their discounts the same way Disney does?

I doubt they are all gone.I think you are just a bit early.Check back in a few months.When we booked for Feb a few years ago the rate did not become available until Sept.

Not sure what you mean by that. There will be no announcement and there isn't a set number of days before a given date that the rate becomes effective and the last few years I've seen more partial weeks rather than whole weeks getting the rate. For instance, in Jan. '05 we went from 1/1 - 1/11 and couldn't get all the days at the rate and DU had some days and SPG had others. I found the first 3 days at Swan on DU while neither site had it for Dolphin and SPG didn't have Swan. I got the last 3 days at SPG at Dolphin, neither site had Swan and DU didn't show Dolphin. The middle 2 days I couldn't get anywhere so we stayed at AllStarMo. It was a 3 resort hop and I'll avoid that in the future. You may want to decide now if you'll split your stay as I did or bite the bullet and pay full rate for any days not offering the rate.
