Do ya'll remember the "Olden Days"--you know, when we all first started posting about the SD Resort? When people would argue and attack us for saying we liked the place?? When we were accused of working for (or at least getting paid by) the SD because we said it was the best place to stay at WDW??
Well, the past couple of days, I've been nosing around back over there. Guess what the single most talked about resort is?? Yep--the SD. Post after post of people asking about the joint...thinking about staying there. A lot of people are upset that Disney has not released AP room discounts beyond this month and they are booking the SD, in some cases canceling their WDW ressies...
Other people back from a stay at the SD raving about it...
Who woulda thunk it all that time ago???
"Our" place seems to have changed from "the elephant graveyard" to "Pride Rock"
I guess the downside to that is it may get so crowded that we may have trouble getting rooms in the future.


On an ironic note--We were booted off of the Resorts Board 'cause we were too off topic?? The SD thread going now hasn't had a mention of the SD for days. It's more off topic than we ever were.
I mean, we'd get off topic, but, then somebody woukld stop in with a question and we'd get back on track...eventually...

I miss BT and Carol and Teri, who's always busy....

I look over there every so often too Sue, and I reply to threads every so often but not "that one". I agree it is quite off topic...but I don't really care, I like our "home" here

I do wish Teri and BT and Poppins would come home for a visit now & then. You know, like YOU finally did

Good morning! Have a good day at work Sue. I have to host a workshop for a group of clients today....so I spent a few extra minutes on my face and hair this morning. My co-workers will probably give me that "Gee, you look really GOOD today" thing, like at a MaryKay party or sumpin' hehehehe

at the S D.....it was the best.....we had a birds eye view of the Epcot Fireworks.....just laid in bed and there it was......we were on the fourth floor I think then......one visit we had one of those corner rooms....with the round balcony.....sat there with the mosquitos...just them and us....it was a nice night.......but a super nice room .....our daughter and her husband sent us a plate of fancy chocolates and cookies and it was nice to snack on chocolate dipped strawberries....

I must get over to the RB again.....I have little time during the summer cuz we're outside a lot and the kids I have are older....well except for Benjie here....say something Ben.....dddddsaaVV..,,,,) okTHATS ENOUGH bEN....... so ANYWAY they don't nap.....EXCEPT FOR Ben
When school starts I get my younger group back and I get my nap time back....well their nap not mine...then I can come to the DIS a bit more

ummm...cuz i've been around here for a year now...and i've read your posts!

well, i couldn't hold out on his present any longer. so he was let in on the secret last night...my sister and her new DH recently moved out to kansas city. he works for a local hospital out there and managed to get some tickets for the KC chiefs opening game of the NFL season on sept 7. DH is a HUGE chiefs fan! and his birthday is sept 7...they had 2 extra tickets and offered them to us! so i worked it out so that we could take that monday off of work and we'll drive out to KC after work friday the 5th...(8 hour drive...yikes!) hang out all day on the 6th...maybe go to the plaza for some shopping and then DH wants to go to dinner at one of his favorite restaurants in the whole world (he also used to live in KC)...then maybe to play a little at the casino he used to work at...and then we'll go tailgating and to the game on sunday...and then have some of the world famous BBQ out there...and then drive home early monday morning. he's so excited!! although he lived in KC for a few years, he never made it to an actual chiefs game. he loved very close to the stadium and could hear everything that went on there, but never got to go to a real game. he's always raving about the tailgating there...and now he gets to fulfill one of his dreams by being at an actual chiefs game! and the tickets are awesome seats...right on a corner but we're in row 16!!! so we're pretty close to the field!! he's extremely excited!! and the best thing...it's only going to cost us gas money and food money. we'll stay with my sister and her hubby AND the tickets were free!!!! yippee!!!!

i had my sister scan the tickets into her computer and e-mail them to me. i printed them out and stuffed them into an envelope...then i had about 7 other envelopes with hints as to what this present could be. i took all of the envelopes and wrapped them up in a box. i had on there something about spending the weekend with my sister...they get along ok, but they aren't the others favorite person...and then the 2nd to the last envelope had the scanned copies of the tickets...and the last one had a message saying "aren't i the best wife in the whole wide world?" he thought so...

so that was my big secret! there was no way for me to keep that a secret from him for 2 weeks!! i wanted him to have time to think about where he wanted to eat and what he wanted to do while we were there. he's thrilled to pieces!! he thanked me profusely

Another "good morning" post.

Debbie--your week-end weather sounds great! Here we are having upper 80s, lower 90s with a humidity level to match....it's been miserable the past 3 or 4 days. Oh, well--can't complain too much, because the rest of the summer has been gorgeous!

Must be nice to have one of those real jobs that you all have where you don't have to work on week-ends (or holidays). Maybe when I grow up, I'll find a real job like that, too (Can you tell this is my week-end to work coming up?? After having 5 or 6 in a row off???) Looks like it's going back to every other week-end, though, cause I quit doing the schedule at work. It just got to be too big of a hassle and too time consuming.

guess you'll just have to use your imaginations...

i am so looking forward to the weekend!! i feel as if i haven't slept in days. i guess i'm just not sleeping very well.

sue...i do NOT miss working those whacky kind of hours! i used to work at the front desk of a residence inn a few years back. i was there for almost 3 years before i moved on to a travel agency. i was hired to work 3p-11p and i HATED it. it wasn't so bad at first...but then after about a year and a half there, i was robbed at gunpoint and i became very afraid to work any night shifts. they moved me to 7a-3p and i liked that shift. but every now and then they would throw in a 3p-11p or even an 11p-7a! it really messed with sleeping patterns!!! i was glad when i moved to a travel agency. at least there i worked 8:30a to 5:30p and the latest i would ever have to work at night was possibly til 7pm. i did have to work every other saturday though...but that was only 9a-1p and i would only have to work a half day one of the days of that week...but now that i'm not there anymore...i work good ole 7:45a-5p monday through friday...NO WEEKENDS!!!!

How could I forget those toots going ....I plum forgot........so whats new........today is thursday thank goodness.....that means tomorrow is Friday......On saturday we are going to Harpswell.....the ocean part ....for my brother in laws birthday ..it is a surprise.....I guess I will make a taco dip.....that always goes fast and tastes good to me too....yummy......on SUnday......I will go to the farmers mkt and then to the seafood store and use my birthday gift certificate....or maybe we will wait for the following week.......I want steamers and lobsters....and I will use margarine to dunk them in....no more butter.....Happy BIrthday to yuo know who.......wonder how old he is today......hehehe....I know I am older then he is......
