Swan and Dolphin Questions

Hello, everyone!! We are staying at the Swan and Dolphin Feb 28 through March 3. Never been to this resort but was at Disney in Sept and go pretty much each year. Few questions I need your expert advice on:

1) Does Disney provide transportation from the airport to Swan and Dolphin?
2) Which is the best room location - Swan or Dolphin? Would prefer to look over disney vs the pool area.
3) Any issues with transportation to the parks - from what I have seen looks pretty easy?

1. No.
2. Can't say - I've only stayed at the Swan.
3. It's the same transportation that you would get at Boardwalk, Beach or Yacht Clubs, most times of the year. Shared buses to MK, AK and DTD. Water taxi to DHS and Epcot. Or walk to DHS and Epcot.

PS - are you staying at the Swan or the Dolphin? They are 2 different hotels.

IMHO, my input:
1) No, but you can book that through Mear's or take a taxi, whichever works best for your party.
2) Both have rooms like that. Best bet, you should request an East wing room to see anything like that. With an East wing room,and an East view, you can see across the BW to Epcot. (The pool area is West, opposite side).
3) Parks transpo is above average. DTD transpo would be the worst of the group.

Thanks for the info!! Not sure which one we will get put into. Going for work and tacking on vacation before. They have rooms blocked listing the name all together, so I'm guess we will be between the two. Will ask for East wing!

Looks like they have some fabulous resturants. Any reviews out there among the DIS group?

Shula's and bluezoo at the Dolphin and Il Mulino at the Swan are among my favorite restaurants on Disney property. Any (or all) of them are well worth a visit.

You can reserve an Epcot view room while making reservations.

Bluezoo is a fantastic, can't miss if you like seafood. My husband and I love it there. Shula's has great steak.

There are also some great places to eat on the Disney Boardwalk a few steps away like Flying Fish

Don't forget you will also be so close to all of the wonderful food at Epcot. A 10 minute stroll from the Swan/Dolphin

If your work has rooms set aside, they are generally booked as "run of house" and you won't get to make any requests. You can certainly try, but I wouldn't expect much. The East rooms are the highest booking category -Epcot Foreworks View, and usually aren't the rooms blocked out by companies for conventions.

That being said however, if you're a Starwood Gold or Platinum member, you will get a comp upgrade if one is available. DH travels to S/D every year for a CRM conference and has Starwood status, and we've gotten some very nice upgrades over the years.

Transportation from the airport is by taxi ($65 one way plus tip) or Mears shuttle (around $32pp round trip), town car ($125 plus tip round trip) or if you're really adventurous - public transportation for about $2 but it does include some changing of busses & a lengthy ride. You can also rent a car, there is an Alamo desk in airport as well as in The Dolphin.
