SWA Refund info: for those whose rates dropped

The way I understand it is that they have to be available, but you can call them and ask.

I don't see where in the rules Refund policy is discussed for this particualr case - when the price of the promotional fares drops.

I think the word unrefundable comes to mind. They may not have every little reason listed for what makes a ticket unrefundable..but since it is, it's sort of like getting a free room upgrade at Disney...some people get them, some don't, but you are only entitled to what you buy. I bought unrefundable tickets, so just like the person who bought the cheap room decides to be happy with what they got, even if they didn't get the upgrades talked about here on the board..I'm happy with what I got..since SW doesn't have to give us anything. There is nothign in their mission statement that states you can get a cc refund. In fact what it does say about unrefundable tickets, is that they are unrefundable.

Some people spend a lot more on their tickets, so they can get their money back, no matter what..if the prices go down, if they need to change a date, or if they just change their mind. I don't think it's about truth..just like when you get different CM's..some hold the keys to the cash register and are able to give you a refund, even if it's not the rules (like the lady at Kmart with all those keys on her wrist)..other's don't. You were told you could get a cc refund, and you got it..even before your trip. I was told I owned a non refundable ticket. It just isn't that big of a deal.

Last year the prices also went down (so I got a credit on SW)and I was told to call back after we finished our trip for a $ refund to the credit card. After our trip I called and did get the $ back on the credit card so I figured I would do the same this year. I hope it works again. This is one of the reasons I fly SW..

We love SW Airlines and their refund policy -

Since we almost always are able to buy our tickets fairly far in advance, and so don't have to buy the "fully refundable" expensive tickets, SW just holds the refund in the original confirmation #. It's very easy to book the next flight you take with these funds on-line.

As long as you use these funds by a year from the date you first booked your original flight, every penny is yours. This is so much better than every other airline I know about (airlines typically charge $75 - $100 to change a non-refundable ticket) and I'm very grateful to SW. Their policy means that I don't lose $ when I have to re-book due to a change in plans, or just want to re-book because they've come out with a lower fare. Plus, their website is easy, easy, easy to use.

We live 10 minutes away from a major airport , but drive almost an hour just to take SW. They are the best, all the way around!
