I'll be flying SWA in July with my two daughters ages 5 and 7 years. Will they let me pre-board since I have a 5 yr old or do the children have to be under 5 yrs. old? Read something in another post about SWA having birthdates in their computer and issuing a blue ticket to families who qualify for pre-boarding. Anyone know if it's 5 yrs. and under or less than 5 yrs. old?

I've always heard them call for "Less than 5 years". SW has also asked for a birth certificate for those wanting the "blue sleeve" boarding pass.

Was at the airport yesterday putting my 12 year old DD on a SWA flight ... they said "under 5" not 5 and under.

My five year old is very small for her age. Think I can get away with passing her off as 4 or will I have to show proof? I don't think I had to prove their ages to preboard last summer. Anyone preboard SWA lately and have to show proof of their child's age to preboard?

I agree--every time I've flown SWA, they call pre-boarding for "children under 5"

It may depend on the airport and the time of day. At BWI, we had a late flight and there were only 2 other families with children and they allowed us all to pre-board, even though none of the children were under 5.

At MCO, they were very strict about 4 and under because there are so many families flying out with young children. We were able to pre-board under Disability since my 8 year old is Diabetic and could not be separated from us during a flight. There were at least 100 people in the pre-boarding line.
