Does anyone know the dimensions of the under seat storage on SWA? I ask because we all have bags that are 9"H x 14"W x 19.5"L (well within the carry on dimensions) and I am wondering if they will fit under the seat. I have to figure out if the kids will need a personal item (bag) for their tablets, headphones and other in-flight needs. Our bags will easily hold everything for our trip so we don't need additional bags, but if they have to go in the overhead bin, I will have them bring their school backpacks as their personal items.

Thanks!

1) All the seats do not have clearance for even "legal" luggage dimensions.
. . . window seats have narrow floor access
. . . aisle seats also have a narrow access
. . . many center seats have a floor-mounted device limiting depth
2) Just to be certain, bring the kids' smaller backpack.

They don't publish specific measurements, it has to fit all the way under the seat. 19.5" sounds too big.

I find it just easier to have each kid with their own pack anyway. They throw in what games, toys, books, electronics they want, along with some snacks, and few other incidentals. They know whatever they pack, they have to carry! Then they also each have easy access to their own stuff during the flight.

Thanks everyone:)

Our carry on bags are actually backpacks (eBags MotherLode Weekender Jr.) so now that I think about it, the kids will already be using a backpack. I will have to look into getting them a smaller tote to use as their personal items.

15x16x7 are Allegiant personal item. I think mine was nudging 17".

We were told about the size of a back pack, I would say larger then a child's size, but not as big as a 20 inch tote bag. But, Allegiant charge for the overhead bin which I think was 14x9x22, the check 80 linear inches and 40 lb max.
