SWA online check-in question

Hi,

For those who have used SWA's online check-in service for check-in up to 24 hrs in advance, do you need to know how many bags you are checking when you check in online? I wasn't sure how that worked. If you are checking bags, do you still go through the check in line at the airport counter? A little confused...thanks!

When we used the online check-in for our trip in August/September, we just check in our baggages at the counter. I believe it does ask you if you have any baggages for check in.

No, I don't even think its addressed on the check in screen, either way you can check your bags when you arrive at the airport. Online checkin is really easy, just click on the check-in online link:

Put in the information and click - then you will see all the names of the passengers on the reservation with a box to click next to the name to check each passenger in. Just follow the steps and you will be issued your boarding passes. If you don't have access to a printer you can print them at the airport when you check your bags.

When you arrive at the airport you can check your bags via curbside, automatic kiosks or wait in line to check them at the check-in counter. Most folks have already checked in online though so I find the lines move pretty quickly, we usually use curbside or the automated kiosks.

I am going to check in mid day on Thursday for my flight on Friday (Woo Hoo) so I will try and take note of all the steps more carefully. I am usually so jittery about getting it done quickly and correctly I don't notice all the steps.

No but a tip is appropriate, we usually tip at least $1 per bag. Some airlines are starting to charge for curbside check in but so far SWA dosen't seem to be one of them.
