Has anyone utilized the online boarding pass for SWA?
I'm curious how it works. Does that keep you from having to arrive so early to be first in line to get a good number for the cattle call? and if so how does everyone getting it on line affect those that have to line up?

Their web site doesn't explain it very well, and states that you can't do it for multi passenger, youth or senior?????
So if i'm traveling with my DH, DD, DS and my "senior" father, does that mean we can't utilize this??

help?

Hi

I don't have all the answers but I can give you some information as I just went through this.

First if all of you reservations are on the same confirmation number forget about it. Even if you call SWA and split them you cannot get boarding passes for the tickets that you split off. (Stayed up till 1AM working on this and was not able to do it) The person at the SWA counter the next day told me that the new confirmation numbers aren't in the same system and therefore would not work.

If you are able to get them online it does mean you don't have to get there as earky. But you may still want to get there early so you can be at the front of the A line and be sure to get seats together.

I believe SWA gives out x number os A, B and C passes wether they are given out online, by skycaps or by the ticket counter it is first come first serve.

"youth" stands for minors travelling alone. We had purchased "child" tickets and if wehad set it up correctly in the beginning would have be able to get boarding passes on line.

How old are DD and DS you could preboard if they are 4 and under.

I am not sure about seniors.

If you are all on the same reservation, call SWA and have them assingned unique confirmations. It does work, many people here have done it. If your father has a regular ticket, not one for a senior citizen fare and one that was booked on the net, you can check in online, same scenario for youth fares. In other words, if you cannot book it online, you cannot check in online. You don't get numbers, you get letters. A, B and C. If you manage to check in online, then you don't need to worry about getting there as early because you already have your letter. Checking in online has NO effect on the line up. All A's get in line, all B's get in line, etc.
Children 4 and under are allowed to preboard with their parents and other sibs, but NOT grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc. They need to wait in the regular line.
