Everyone - I posted a while back that the SWA rep I talked to on the phone told me that as soon as a live agent touches your reservation, i.e. to separate people lumped into one reservation, you can not take advantage of on-line check in. Well, Thanks to everyone here I called again and had SWA change my reservation for four people into four separate reservations. I asked the woman doing it if now I can do on-line check-in and she told me. yes, you can. I feel like I am talking to CRO CMs with the variations in story I get every time I call - but there you have it - this one says, yes you may do this.

I have a further question about SWA reservations - if my mother would like to take the first leg of her roundtrip flight and then possibly change the return leg after she has taken the beginning leg can she do it? Does that make sense?

Yes, she can, but, it will probably incur a higher fare. We did this on our recent trip and the cost was 70.00 per person for the increase in the airfare, no change fee, however. :)

As to speaking with SWA agents, on this new feature, I would cut them some slack. It is new and all the "undocumented features" were not ironed out and the rules were new.

Thank you Gail.

I hope it didn't come off as if I gave her grief about this - I didn't at all and I figured out that they were just working out the rules themselves after our last thread. It just goes to show that you all are angels to answer question from everyone because without you all here as a sounding board I would not have known to try again to split my reservations up.

Thanks again - we'll see how it goes with my indecissive mother.

Oh, you certainly did not come off sounding like you gave the agent grief, not in the least. I kind of figured you had figured all this info was new, I was just posting that in case someone else read the report from you and wondered. You know, cover EVERYTHING. :)

Glad it worked for you and mothers can be indecissive, that is our job, and we take it seriously. ;)
