SWA messed up our boarding passes. This happen to anyone?

What? My mom could easily sprint down the jetway (mid 70s), and so could plenty of other people her age! Seventy isn't exactly ancient.

As would my mother, right up until the day she passed away!!! On the other hand, my 73 y/o step-mother isn't sprinting anywhere. She has severe back and leg issues, so she does pre-board. It all depends on the person.

Didn't SW disclose at one point that the price paid for the ticket figures into the EBCI position? If your friends purchased their seats later and in fact paid a higher price, that could be the difference. EBCI has been a cash cow for SW in some markets, would guess Orlando is one of them. So the sheer number of people being checked in at T-36 means not every "group" will have sequential BP numbers, it's just not physically possible with SW's current computing power.

Yes, I believe cost of the tickets does factor into your EBCI position. Lots of information over on Flyertalk about it. We have used points and gotten early A numbers and lower A numbers. A lot depends on timing of the tickets and how many other people bought EB.

I realize that mid 70's are not ancient (as I get closer to 70, I do realize this), however, what might be true for your Mom does not mean it is true for all seniors. I know people that are just in their mid 60s that can barely make it from the living room to the bathroom. Everyone is different, I was merely making a suggestion to alleviate the angst that the OP was having. Sorry if my words insulted you or your Mom.

Thank you Goofy4tink. Some people just think a general statement is applicable to them only.

And, I have received low number by buying "cheap" fares and checking in at the 24 hour mark and the flight has been full. Other people have done the EBCI with el cheepo fares and have received low numbers on full flights. I think it is the way the computer processes them, not how much you paid or how you paid.

No kidding! I flew last year with my then 74 year old dad, and I would never had dreamed of using him to pre-board. He would have laughed in my face if I had suggested it! :rotfl2:

I agree that you should trade passes with your mom and have your husband save you a seat.

No one is "using" anyone to preboard, it was just a suggestion to ease the angst of the OP. Geez, why does everything have to be applicable to everyone on a personal basis?
