I wanted to share this info, mainly because I couldn't find a clear answer anywhere online....:thumbsup2 I love SWA..... We've been flying for years using a combo of earned points and companion pass....my favorite thing about them is the flexibility it gives us to plan.:thumbsup2
Today I was just checking my upcoming fares (not WDW) for about a month away- and saw there were 2 seats on my homebound flight that had dropped 1800 points each:cool1: (how did I know there were only 2?First,while randomly checking the flights,as I do from time to time, my input was for 1 traveler- I got excited when I saw my flight had dropped, so then I input 8 travelers,no discount,7,6,5,4,3,etc. When I hit 2, the magic discount appeared-hence,2 seats left at that price) I quickly changed one of our flights to grab that discount-super easy to do this online-(1 left at discounted price) Problem now- I had booked my DH,and I was his companion, and we both had EBCI....:confused3 what to do? I called SWA,and spoke to a friendly csr.... explained what I wanted to do, she gave me back the 1800 pts in my acct- and kept DH's same flight#,and my Companion flight and EBCI all in place!!!
(Ordinarily to switch a flight with a companion booked, you have to CANCEL both, and lose the EBCI in the process of rebooking.)
This is another reason why I like SWA so much, Their customer service is pretty great!

I too like SWA however i wish that if you had to cancel and had EBCI that it would somehow go on your acct as a credit. I had to cancel my may trip and lost 50.00 cuz of this. :(

kmermaid, that is the point of my post, rather than canceling and rebooking online, I called, and they did it all for me..in effect, same flights, etc, same EBCI- but the extra credits back in account.:thumbsup2 so that is another possible option to try, is what I am saying.

I think they have great customer service. I flew them earlier this month. My outgoing flight was canceled due to ice as were several others. I wanted a nonstop and in order to get on a nonstop it was going to be 2 days. They had another flight the next day but it took my 2 hr 15min flight to 5 hrs 40 min without a plane change! No Thank You!! Anyway when I commented to the phone personnel about how disappointed I was that I was losing 2 days off of my trip, they changed my return flight to another day without any charge. Another airline would not have done that! They would have been like...so sorry, too bad, so sad!

This isn't true. If an airline has to cancel flights due to weather, you are allowed to change to a different flight with no change fee. This is true of all airlines, not just Southwest.

They only canceled ONE of my flights. The one going TO Florida. There was no weather interference with my return flight home. I just commented how now I was losing time in Florida. The allowed me to change my return flight without having to pay the higher cost the flight was going for. They were NOT obligated to do that at all!! They had every right to make me keep my original return flight or pay the higher rate if I wanted to change.
