SWA, It was fun while it lasted.

We fly in and out of Bradley too! I would say keep checking from time to time for future flights. My wife found out a band she likes is playing at House of Blues some random weekend in November so booked flights a few weeks back, down on Saturday and back on Monday. They were running a deal, and maybe it's just because she's flying Monday which I'm guessing is cheaper than weekend flying, but the flight back to BLD on SW was $64 one way. She had is covered in previous credits so she was pretty happy with it but I do mostly agree with you, JetBlue has been a cheaper option for us in more recent trips.

I’ve pretty much flown SW exclusively (with some United), but not necessarily because I loved it. I flew AirTran exclusively before (best prices), and when SW bought them they had non stop flights for the places I frequent most often. Luckily it’s also been the best price too.

I’ve never liked the boarding process. We don’t check bags so that has never been a perk. I hear a lot of good about JetBlue, but from Pittsburgh every time I look at flights with layover they seem excessively long. Delta is usually too expensive, and while American doesn’t seem bad, alot of times their connections are way too tight for my liking.

So pretty much nothing will change for me. I’ll look non stop first, and compare price/time to other airlines with a layover.

Not due to price of flights for us but other changes (expiring travel credits, baggage charges) have caused us to start looking elsewhere after being loyal SW guests for 15+ years. Sad to go but I just cannot justify booking with them after these changes.
Same! I'm flying Delta on my next trip even though it is before the SW assigned seating starts. With having to pay a bag fee and and the EBCI fee to get a decent seat right now, it was too much. Got a much better fare on Delta and no lining up for seats!

We have always been Southwest fans because they were the most economical. But are also looking at JetBlue now. Agree....it was good while it lasted.

Feeling the sting today as well. Unfortunately, JetBlue has one flight per day out of ALB and they have stung us by canceling it for no reason a few weeks out and left us hanging, so I avoid JetBlue. I am stuck hoping prices drop with Southwest because at least they have many flights per day.

Same here. Southwest has been great with their flights out of Providence but JetBlue has become more economical with options out of both Logan and TF Green.

Our friend who flies out of ALB passed on JetBlue for the same reason on our May trip. She got a very reasonable fare on Delta connecting in DTW and made it to MCO maybe 45 min after our direct flight from JFK. If you don’t mind connecting she had nothing but good things to say about both flights.

SWA has very few non-stop flights out of PHL anymore and the fares are comparable to American. We are using American for our WDW trips now and it has been basically fine (PHL is a hub, so more non-stops as well). American isn’t unknown to us anyway - we’ve used them often over the years for travel to Las Vegas, Dallas, etc.

We had wonderful family trips on SWA over the years taking advantage of some great fares. It’s kind of sad, but we had to move on.

I fly out of PVD. Breeze has some decent prices on MCO flights
Me, too! I did not realize Breeze flew out of PVD. I actually live in Boston and I'm 6 miles from Logan, but my usual travelling group live on the Cape, so we fly out of whatever airport we can get better times and fares, we definitely prefer PVD. I'll drive to the Cape and leave my car there and we go to PVD. When it's just me, I fly out of Logan.

Add me to the list of those who will leave SW as soon as I get rid of my credits and points! Fortunate to fly out of DCA with lots of options. I flew American my last trip on points, have a SW flight in December, and a Jet Blue flight (also on points) in February. Having both a JB and AA credit card can give me a free bag when I need it. Bonus - the SW terminal at DCA is old and separated from the rest of the gates - it is a LONG walk to the metro station.

Still may be an option out of BDL for me. Hubby & I have the CC so no bag fees and frankly we liked the old boarding process and really don’t care where we sit as it’s a pretty short flight. I have been very successful at getting low fares to MCO, typically under 10,000 RT and I have never found the best prices at opening, more like 4 months out. When we took the grands down last year, I got the 7 flights down to 8200 each nonstop RT. We may drop down to 1 CC with SWA because of the annual fee but we will keep mine. We have both opened JB cards with 70,000 reward points each as they have nonstops to FLL for our semi frequent cruises. I have not had to book anything under the new SWA system so I may be in for a shock when I do!
