I'm looking into flying with Southwest, but I've never done it before. I was wondering if anyone could explain the different rates so I can understand? What's the difference between these (besides price :)):

Refundable Anytime

Restricted Fares

Advance Purchase

Fun Fares

Promotional Fares

Internet One-way

And I've just dowloaded DING, but it only asks for your departing city (Philly) - do you get notices for EVERY flight out of Philly or is there a way to specify PHL to MCO?

Thanks for any info!

Hi! I'm not quite sure as to the exact difference between the categories but I always pick the cheapest (usually the internet special) and watch for Dings. I'm sure you can click each "type" and a pop up will come up describing them, or something to that extent.

As for Ding! you will get every ding there is and then when you click on the link will have the option to 'Jump to your Destination' (or something along those lines) in the window.

PS - Philly is my home airport, too! Welcome to the boards! :)

Hope that helps! :thumbsup2

Thanks folks!

I saw the info on Southwest's site, but I was still confused. I was looking for a more "simplified" understanding. A few of them sound pretty much the same!
