We always head from RI (PVD) to Orlando in September. I monitor flights like a mother watching her kids at the beach. I can honestly say I've never seen a September flight SELL OUT in May! Some obscure Friday date in September, last flight of the day, COMPLETELY SOLD OUT! Has me dumbfounded and my husband is tired of hearing it so I thought...I'll bring it to the boards! It's just weird....just sayin'.
p.s. had been watching because some of our party is flying out on that flight and I was waiting for the rates to drop so I could snag a credit for them...guess that's not happening. :3dglasses

 hmmm--guess people are going for FD?

Maybe it is a popular business connector flight? Weird!

Our Memorial weekend SW flight didn't sell out until just a month ago, which surprised me.

It's a non-stop flight, Sept 23. Too soon for Food and Wine, well past Labor Day. I don't know what "FD" is so I can't comment on that. I even did some research into Air Tran wondering if they were already combining flights somehow. I know it's a ridiculous thing to obsess about but it's just so unusual...

I would call to confirm, it might be a glitch. It's possible a large group booked it.

Free dining (FD) ends Sept. 24, doesn't it? Why not call SW?

Yes, I work in the industry and it's sold out.....people are planning ahead

It could be that a group has reserved it - and it might open up later - or maybe not.

I also have OCD when it comes to monitoring SWA flights:rotfl:
Many times, I have seen flights on certain days get sold out months ahead, only to find later seats are available, and sometimes later still, Wanna get Away fares available on those same flights were previoulsy sold out.

Keep watching and let us know

Anne

It's strange that the last flight of day arriving in Orlando at 8:20pm is soldout when the 3 earlier non-stops are open. It sounds like people are leaving after work. I checked the Friday before and the Friday after for that flight and all fares are open. I'm betting on a group.

We're booked on Jetblue from Buffalo earlier in Sept. I've been keeping an eye on our flights for price dips & a few seating issues we've had. Noticed the return flight wasn't showing up this week. Turns out JB changed to a smaller plane, for both flights. Smaller plane is now sold out. They only have 1 direct flight each way per day. Glad I booked early & didn't wait.
