When you are charged the $50 for a fund extension, is it per confirmation or per person on that confirmation?

It depends upon how the credits were distributed. This is what happend with us. My family of 4 flew down in December 2006 and we were able to get a ding so we had a large credit. We used that credit for when we booked our flights in Feb. 07 for our June trip. The way that the credits were distributed were $150 for my son and $35 for my daughter. Essentially my son's ticket was "free" for our June trip and my daughter's had a small discount. I just found out that these credits actually expired in August of 2007 becuase that is when we originally purchased our first ticket.

So I called SW, per the instructions that I received here. They informed me that there was a $50 charge for each credit. So my son's credit became $100 and my daughter's went away since it was less than the $50 charge. I asked them if they would just combine the amounts and charge one fee and they said no.

I hope that longwinded response answers your question.

Were they two separate confirmation #'s? I have two $180 credits on two separate numbers and two people on each one. So, will I be charged $50 for each $180 credit? Or $50 for each person, which would be $200 total?

i am to believe it is per person on the confirmation..... we had 3 of us on a confirmation... DH, DS & I. Would have to pay $50 x 3

You can call SW and ask....best to hear it from the horse's mouth..... You have to call to request the extension anyway....

NO, i believe it is $50 per reservation no matter how many were on that reservation?

It all depends upon how SW spread the credit out. In my case the credits were for two people under 1 reservation number. The other two people on the reservation did not have any credits. So when you call SW if both people on the reservation have credits then you would be charged $50 per person, but if only one person has the credit then it would be only one $50 charge. SW controls how the credits are spread among the people on your reservation.

Don't call the the 800 number. You need to call the local number which gets you to their customer relations (I think that's the department). I'll look for the number for you.

Here's the number to call. 214-792-4223, it's the refund department.

The 800 number where you make your ressie's will be of no help to you. Their stock answer is to write a letter.

I'm not sure I'm following this. If there are two people on a reservation and you cancel your flight let's say, that credit then is one credit for the reservation or two credits split in half, one for each person?

We briefly talked to Customer Relations and she said something about per person. From that it will probably cost us $100 for this one confirmation. The main issue we are having (which I have posted)
is originally had four on the reservation (for a unexpeted trip in February to use up the funds) and then cancelled off two. I had used two funds with different expiration dates. When I cancelled the two people off it kept the funds that expires in December and refunded the funds that expires in April. So now instead of having funds that expire in December we have funds that expire in April.. Our actual familytrip is in May. I called the 800 number to find out why and she said it refunds the oldest. She referred us to Customer Relations and said we had a good argument to get the extension fee waived. The Customer Relations lady was rude so we did not talk to her very long. After all is said and done, we will have two credits for a total of $360 and it will probably cost us $200 to get them extended to use in May .

BTW, I'm not getting email notification so I will not know when someone responds. I'll just check back.

it's more cost effective to sell your ticketless travel funds than to pay $200!
