We don't fly much so not sure about what to do. I check our flights for a price drop all the time. Today our flight is gone MCO-SDF on Jan 3. We are booked on the only non-stop flight of the day. Does this mean the flight is gone (cancelled) or that it is simply a full flight.

If it is gone will they put us on another flight, can we pick which one, and most important can we switch days to get another non stop flight?

Try going here...

and see what SW has recorded as your flights. It's possible your flight is full and that's why it's not available for purchase.

If you already booked and paid for a flight and it is cancelled then you should hand pick other flights you would like and ask to be switched to one of those. The airline should honor that request at no extra charge provided the flight you name is not sold out for the same cabin (first/business/coach). Alternatively you can ask for a full refund.

If you already booked and paid for flights then the airline may not move you from a still existing flight without your consent, unless the trip is unflyable for example a minor schedule change makes a connection layover too short.

It's probably just a full flight thats not available anymore. But I would check your confirmation numbers online to be sure.

I checked the confirmation number and it has the flight we are booked on. Thanks for the info. I wanted to call but also wanted to know our options before getting the bad news. Looking at it I think our flight is just full. Never been on a booked flight before.

Now to start dreaming that when we get to the airport they offer us free flights to be bumped. Never had that happen either, hahaha

I would call them. I check SWA a lot too and I think (although not positive) when's flight it sold out it still appears on the list, just without any bubbles to select a given fare. Hopefully it isn't canceled, but if it is - I would want to select my back up option ASAP. Good luck!

I was thinking it would appear as "sold out" also since I see lots of flights listed that way. Louisville is now stopping in Atlanta so I kind of worried they were changing everything on us. The flights from a couple of days past ours are really changing. I want to choose our flight also and would want to grab a non stop the day before even. We don't fly a lot and most of the connections are in the north an with it being January don't want to hit bad weather. I can count on one hand our round trio flights so we don't do this often. I may call when I get home just to make sure

This happened to me with SWA on my most recent trip. They changed their flight schedule and one leg was canceled/removed from the schedule.

I called SWA to rebook onto another available leg for the same day. It was easy to do.

I asked if I would have been contacted about the change and they said yes I would have been, but at the time the flight was still several months out, and I was quicker in finding the change myself because I was monitoring fare prices daily and noticed the leg was gone.

If you really want to research, you can look at the SWA flight schedule to see if your leg is missing:

I did check this earlier and my flight #59 I still there and is also still showing on our confirmation. I will watch this link to make sure it is not removed.

I think it is full, never flew on a busy day and never over the holidays.

Yes, since your flight is still on the flight schedule for that day, I agree it may be full or otherwise not showing up on the Book a Flight pages for some reason.

With my experience the dropped flight was missing from both the Book a Flight options and the flight schedule itself.

Thank you so much!! I LOVE the DIS and the help everyone has to offer. I will keep watching.

Again, call them and check, but I would guess that it's sold out. They will keep it on the schedule and have 'unavailable' or 'sold out' on the wanna get away, then the next one as long as something is still available at the highest price. Once it is totally full, no longer a reason to have it show up.

Just to update, don't know what happened but our flight has been added back to the online booking page and it is still the lowest priced flight of the day and the only non-stop. SWA did add another flight in the morning with layover in Atlanta (new connection for Louisville) Guess they just were rearranging flights for a few days to add the Atlanta flights to the system.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I have been watching flights for Jan 21 from Orlando to Jackson, MS for quite some time. Now twice the non-stop flight that I was wanting disappeared from the schedule. But each time, it reappeared a day or so later. I did go ahead and book it last week when it reappeared though.
