SWA DINGs and internet specials

I am desperately trying to hold out on a DING. I am flying out of Norfolk toward end of July. At this point, all DINGs are for either Tues or Wed. We fly out on a Fri (no way to change our day of the week). As of right now, the flight I have booked is about 1/3 full and no change over the last week. We have not booked the return flight first week of Aug on a Fri.

I was wondering if SWA ever offered DINGs or internet specials on the days they don't normally do so, just for the purpose of selling unpurchased seats. In other words, am I wasting my time by trying to get a DING or internet special for a Ffri when it appears they only offer them on Tue or Wed? I don't want to jump the gun and purchase the return trip at this time since there is no way we would ever use the credit. The return flight has no catagories full at this point.

I can't say for sure, but I doubt if SWA is going to have a problem with unsold seats for travel on a Friday during the summer. Bargains are usually available for the slower travel days, ie Tue/Wed.

I've seen them offer just Tuesdays, Just Tues & Wed, Monday - Saturday, just Saturdays etc. It never seems to be just Tues & Wed for our airport (Providence)I think it has to do with how full each flight is and how many seats they need to sell

Whew..that's a crazy gamble! SWA honors the DING credit if one appears after your purchase. I would book airfare and then drive yourself crazy checking for daily DINGs rather than end up paying an arm and a leg, or not having any tickets at all.
