SWA - credit ??

OK, I have $360 in credit for SWA. I know you have 1 year to use it - but does that mean you have to be booked within that year or do you have to fly within that year?

My credit is good until Dec.1, 05 but we are not planning in flying until Jan. 14, 06. Can I book for before Dec 1 and then change the dates or do I lose my credit then?

Pretty sure you have to complete travel by that time.

Yes you are supposed to travel within that timeframe, but, someone posted several days ago that they called SW customer service since they weren't going to be traveling until a few months after their 12 month timeframe and
SW customer service extended their expiration date for travel. I can't find the post, but, I believe it was on the transportation board within the past week or so.

you should check and see if they will extend it for you....

have heard others say that they do a courtesy six month extension if you ask....( know that they do this for vouchers for sure but vouchers cannot be used online )

it might be worth a call to SWA

Note that you do have to call SW customer service when asking for an extension - not the reservations number. Reservations will not be able to do this and will just tell you it must be used within a year.

Oh, man! I wish I had known this a couple of months ago! We had $156 credit on SW that expired in May, but we just couldn't book our trip before then. I just booked us for Oct, which would have been within a 6 -month extension time, but it never occurred to me to call and ask. Drats!
