I thought I saw a thread about the SWA credit card offer (if you sign up, you get 50,000 points to use toward flights). I can't seem to locate the thread. Can somebody direct me toward that thread, or please relate your experiences with doing this offer? DH got it in the mail and we are seriously thinking of doing it because spring break a/f is through the roof!

TIA!

Get it!!! I signed up when they were offering 50,000 to anyone on their website. I didn't realize it was a limited time offer. I told my mom and she tried to sign up 2 days later and it was down to 25,000 (still a great deal, but not as good). For the 99.00 annual fee (that I will only pay once since I will cancel the card during the first year) we got 50,000 points that will allow us to get 6 FREE roundtrip tickets!!! Our whole family of 4 will go to Colorado to ski this winter and my daughter and I will go to Minnesota to Mall Of America to celebrate her 10th birthday in the spring  Since we live in St. Louis these are cheaper flights. There are more expensive destinations where we would only get 3 free roundtrip tickets. I could not be happier! My mom did sign up for 25,000 points and that will get her 3 free roundtrip flights to Colorado to visit her sister for a one time annual fee of 69.00 (she will also cancel the card within the first year). Combined with no airline fees and no bag fees it is so awesome :thumbsup2

I saw the link today in a thread on the Transportation board. I signed up in September and got 3 roundtrip flights from KC to Orlando for May. I am hoping the flights go down some like Jan and Feb are! We would be able to get 5 RT flights.

I just signed my husband up today, so we can get flights for my parents too. There is a $69 annual fee for the current offer and you are required to pay security fees on the flights.

For the flights I have so far, I have paid the $69 annual fee and $10 for the security fees. The flights are $300 a piece, so I am saving $800!!!

I don't understand why it says get 50,000 points which are redeemable for 2 free flights, when depending on when/where you go, you could get more than 2 free roundtrip flights. Are you limited to only 2 free roundtrip flights, or do you actually get 50,000 points to keep using until they're gone?

Also, how long does it take for you to get the card? Once you get the card, how long does it take to get the points? Just want to make sure that it's realistic that we can do all this in a timely manner to book for spring break.

Thanks for your help!

I agree... my daughter signed up yesterday... was approved on line right away... looking at the points she could get a round trip from Buffalo to Orlando depending on when she went for 15000 points... thats more than two round trips.... think I might sign up also so that we will have 100000 between us to use...

worth the 69 fee ..... just cancel at the end of a year....

Today I was looking at the offer and it said something to the effect of "$800 worth of wanna get away fares."
