We have earned the Companion Pass (CP) in 2014, which was awesome! In early 2014, I applied for and was granted both the Plus and Premium cards.
Fast forward to today, I would like to cancel my Plus card now. I rarely use it for purchases anymore and I am now interested in the Biz card. We have rental property and I think I would qualify for that purpose.
In any case, I want to wait until the end of this year or early next year to apply for the Biz card. My plan was to apply for the Biz card in December 2016 (if I can find a 50k point promo). Then re-apply for the Plus card in the Spring of 2017 (in hopes I can get approved again and I find a 50k point promo). If successful I would be able to hopefully get the Companion Pass again in late 2017 and thru 2018.
I have read that Chase has adopted new policies for these cards. But, recently, I have read that as long as your bonuses are more than 24 months apart, you can get the promo more than once. I have a friend who has been doing it every two years for several years and has not had any issues.
Does anyone have any experience doing this (cancelling one and getting the biz card or getting the 50k promo more than once)? I follow MillionMilesSecrets and (from what I have read) I think this can work if I time it properly.
